Fortunately, there's a long-awaited new Final Fantasy 7 release set to drop this month thanks to a massive rollout of new games slated to arrive in June 2026, and it may keep players busy while we wait for an official Part 3 announcement (via XBOX Wire).
Late last month, XBOX announced a massive list of over thirty new games set to be added in the first week of June which will include several highly anticipated new titles, perhaps the most exciting of which is the long-awaited arrival of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. While PlayStation 5 and Steam gamers have been enjoying Part 2 of the trilogy for a while now, XBOX players have been counting down the days for its official launch.
The wait is finally over as of tomorrow, June 2, as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Digital Deluxe and Standard editions are set to go live. While these aren't included as free Game Pass additions or anything fancy, there's no doubt that thousands of gamers are finally going to dive into the second chapter.
Further, if you're a Nintendo Switch 2 gamer, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set to release on the console on June 3, making the game officially available to players on all major platforms this week, a huge milestone for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy.
With Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth finally making its way to all platforms, speculation is starting to ramp up that a big announcement for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 could be just around the corner.
Recent comments from director Naoki Hamaguchi point out that Part 3 is "on time and on schedule" and that preparations for an official announcement are "steadily underway," and from a marketing perspective, it would make sense to drop a big announcement with a fresh wave of hype after Rebirth's launch on XBOX and Switch 2.
So, if you're a Final Fantasy 7 Remake fan, it's probably best to keep your ear to the ground for a major announcement sooner rather than later.
