Fearne Cotton has revealed she's been having a 'weird burst of fun' lately, amid her divorce from husband Jesse Wood.

The presenter, 43, shocked fans by sharing the divorce announcement on Instagram this month just days after she disclosed a health scare, revealing she had discovered two tumours on her jawline.

Addressing her mindset in recent weeks, the mother-of-two spoke opened up in a chat with comedian Joanne McNally on her latest Happy Place podcast

After Joanne revealed she went from relying on her friends to have a good time to suddenly feeling 'hyper independent', Fearne shared her own take.

She confessed: 'I'm having a little weird um burst of fun. I don't know why, it's come out of nowhere. It's like, oh I just want to go and get a bit p***ed and have some fun.

'I'm coming out of it a bit I think it's all phases but I I totally understand that sort of hyper independence. I think I've had that for so long maybe because I started work young.'

Fearne continued: 'Sometimes I don't trust that people are going to do what I need or support me in the right way.

'So I'm like "no I'm doing everything on my own" which is not great but I but I know I can rely on myself.

'So I sort of stick to that and I know that that's not great but it's just a coping mechanism I guess.'

Fearne also appeared to hint at her marital woes in her previous podcast, as she admitted on her Happy Place podcast that she 'doesn't want to feel depleted, stressed and not present in her family home'.

Speaking to Caroline Hirons, Fearne spoke of the 'toxic pressure that a woman can have it all'.

After a stressful few weeks battling her tumour scares, going through a divorce, while running a business at the same time, Fearne admitted: 'The pressure is immense'.

She said: 'There is a lot of pressure for women to prove ourselves, that we can run businesses, I'm trying to do the same with Happy Place. But if we are honest, the pressure is immense.

'I can imagine you [Caroline] are like me, there are lots of things I'd like to do, lots of goals.

'I want to grow and expand myself in many ways but I don't want to feel depleted and stressed out and not be able to be present in my family home, [I want to] have time with my friends, have fun.

'There is still that toxic sort of trope that women can have it all, that people believe.'

Fearne shares son Rex, 11, and daughter Honey, eight, with Jesse, 48, and she is also stepmother to his children Arthur, 21, and Lola, 18, from his first marriage.

In the statement revealing the split Fearne told fans that their priority was their children

She posted on Instagram: 'It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been and always will be our children.

'We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.'

Fearne reportedly feared for her marriage for some time before announcing the couple's split.

It has emerged that the couple had faced challenges for several years, with Fearne previously admitting that their marriage had been 'suffering' as far back as 2019.

Speaking at the time, Fearne said Jesse's demanding schedule with his band Reef had put a strain on their relationship which left them desperately 'clinging onto their marriage' in an unearthed interview.

The couple's problems eventually came to a head with a two-hour 'screaming match' where they worried their 'love had gone'.

Fearne tied the knot with the musician, who is the son of Rolling Stones member Ronnie Wood, in 2014, with the couple separating 10 years later

Jesse, who is the son of Rolling Stone rocker Ronnie Wood and model Krissy Findlay, is yet to speak out on their split.

The couple, who tied the knot in a small London ceremony in 2014, celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in July.

The pair met in 2011 while in Ibiza, with Jesse having recently separated from his first wife, actress Tilly Wood.

Fearne previously said their first date consisted of vodka and cigarettes. But Jesse stopped drinking and both have been vegan since 2021.
