Fallout could release zero mainline games and still reign supreme in many gaming circles. That's kind of how it's coasting right now, given that Fallout 4 came out in 2015, and there hasn't been a numbered core title since.

Fallout 76 is picking up some of that slack, and, incredibly, is turning eight years old later this year. Then there's the promise of another Obsidian-helmed Fallout game in the future, as well as Fallout 5, which hasn't revealed its setting.

There's a lot on the way, but so much of it could be years off. Thanks to an official Bethesda confirmation, we know that a Fallout NCR release is headed to fans next year.

A power armor from Fallout walks through the mists.

Revealed on the Bethesda gear blog, the Fallout NCR Power Armor Figure by Dark Horse is slated for release soon. Note that this is set to go live in 2027, so you may have to wait a bit. If you do bite, it's $79.99, and the detailed figure is 9.75" tall, with a poker chip base meant to evoke the feeling of New Vegas.

Here's what you can expect for that 80 bucks: "Dark Horse, in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, continues our line of figures from the acclaimed Prime Video series, Fallout, this time pulling characters straight from the scenes of Season 2. In the procession to rescue Lucy, The Ghoul takes Maximus and Thaddeus to an abandoned NCR safe house where they unearth the revered armor from the New California Republic. The NCR is a post-war federal republic-esque faction that values democracy and the rule of law. Maximus wears the armor to battle the Deathclaws as they make their way into New Vegas."

In other words, this figure is directly inspired by the TV show. Maximus wields it in season 2, in a pretty pivotal moment in the story. Anyone who has seen it should recognize the armor, but the games also showcase it.

Sadly, all we have right now is a "customer ship window." The Dark Horse Direct listing provides a little more information, as it's set to drop from "February to April 2027." It's not an exact date, but at the very least, we're getting a two month window.

Fallout fans have no shortage of extra content and spinoff games to enjoy, especially given how little time the show has had to pump out two seasons. Several live service games are also active right now, including Fallout 76 and Fallout Shelter.

While mainline games take quite a while, just like The Elder Scrolls franchise, Bethesda is keen on contracting out anyone they can to produce other forms of Fallout merch and projects. The NCR Power Armor figure, while small, is still a nice way to represent one of the more beloved regions in Fallout history.
