While the Fallout franchise has enjoyed a massive resurgence thanks to Amazon's hit television adaptation and Fallout 76 continuing to receive major updates, Fallout 5 remains a distant prospect. Bethesda has repeatedly confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is the studio's primary focus, leaving Fallout 5 fans waiting in the wings with no release window and little official information to discuss.
That reality has increasingly tested the community's patience, especially as years pass without meaningful updates on the series' future. Although remasters, spin-offs, and ongoing support for existing games have helped keep Fallout in the spotlight, many players are eager for a proper sequel that builds on and improves upon Fallout 4's foundation.
However, while Fallout 5 is likely years away, Fallout 4 is still getting brand-new content as we speak, with Fallout's official X account promoting a new companion that's available to download now.
Miss Weldy is a brand-new Automatron companion developed by Unoctium through Bethesda's Creation Club platform for Fallout 4. The new companion is available for purchase for 500 Creation Credits in-game, or roughly $5 USD, and features over 2,000 unique "professional" dialogue lines. Miss Weldy is fully compatibile with the Automatron, Far Harbor, and Nuka-World expansions, and is encountered at Walden Pond.
She serves as a morally dubious con artist who encourages selfish and criminal choices, offering extensive quest commentary, unique interactions, and even the ability to scavenge loot on her own. She can also accompany the player alongside a standard vanilla companion, making her a flexible addition for those looking for a more personality-driven follower.
Miss Weldy is available as part of Fallout 4's Creations, which are officially supported pieces of DLC available through Bethesda's Creations platform, offering new quests, companions, weapons, armor, player homes, and various other gameplay additions developed by community creators.
Unlike traditional mods, Creations are curated for the platform and purchased with Creation Credits, allowing players to expand their game without relying on community mod managers. New Creations such as Miss Weldy continue to release years after Fallout 4's launch, and they help keep the game alive with fresh content alongside its extensive modding community.
While it's certainly not going to even come close to satisfying players who are growing impatient waiting for Fallout 5, Creations are the closest thing fans are going to get to new content outside new Fallout 76 seasonal content that releases throughout the year. Fallout 4 remains the only viable single-player Fallout experience, and while players would surely prefer to get their hands on the sequel, they'll have to make do with what's on offer through Creations for the time being.
