EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk’s X is getting into the World Cup daily vid game with a series led by soccer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Throughout June and July, Romano, a globally-recognized soccer journalist mainly known for his transfer videos, will host 40 vids and three live streams as the World Cup plays out in North America.
Fabrizio 24/7 will feature Romano’s predictions, analysis and insight as the games roll out. He previously presented a one-off for X, which the social media platform said drew 310 million impressions across all posts.
The controversial platform has been pushing deeper into originals of late and has also made the likes of Inside the NFL, This Week in Baseball, Venus and Serena Williams’ Stockton Street and Ari Emanuel’s entertainment debate series Rushmore.
“I’m proud to bring Fabrizio 24/7 to X, delivering a real-time original series that keeps fans at the heart of every major moment,” said Romano. “This is football’s biggest stage, and there’s no better platform than X to connect directly with that global audience in the fastest, most authentic way possible.”
X joins Netflix in making a daily world cup show for this summer’s tournament. The streamer will be airing a vodcast version of Gary Lineker’s Rest is Football.
