Street Fighter is one of the most popular and influential fighting game franchises on the planet. Many of the characters, including Ryu and Ken, are household names, which is particularly impressive considering how niche fighting games tend to be.
With so much love for Street Fighter, it's not surprising that we have a live-action movie adaptation to look forward to in the near future. 90s film fans will likely already know that a live-action Street Fighter film already exists, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile. Raul Julia's portrayal of M. Bison is legendary, and while the movie has some bizarre scenes, it has retained an adoring cult following.
The upcoming Street Fighter movie boasts an all-star cast, including Jason Momoa as Blanka. The trailers are like highlight reels, introducing us to fresh live-action versions of fighting game characters we've grown up with. Time will tell whether the movie tells a traditional story in which Ryu ultimately overcomes M. Bison, or if other factors are at play.
On that note, the Street Fighter cast varies wildly in power and strength. Few fighting games have a roster as colorful and diverse, and while most characters can win in the video games, that may not be so true in the movies. While all are capable fighters, not everyone has what it takes to win it all in the martial arts tournament.
15 Dan Hibiki
Andrew Shultz is playing Dan Hibiki in the 2026 Street Fighter movie, and fans of the games already know why he's at the lowest rank on our list. Hibiki is arguably stronger than many regular fighters, but cannot hold a candle to the established cast.
Dan's fighting style may look similar to Ryu and Ken's at first glance. He uses the 'Saikyo' style, which means "strongest," and is an overconfident martial artist. He's often comic relief in the games, and it would be hard to see him play anything else in the film.
He's still strong, but pales in comparison to the overpowered fighters in the Street Fighter cast.
14 Balrog
Balrog (50 Cent) is a Street Fighter mainstay and a formidable boxer with a reputation for fighting dirty. He's not the only boxer in the franchise roster. Dudley is a fellow pugilist in some of the games, and arguably stronger, but he's not confirmed to be in the film.
Balrog is a relentless prizefighter with a reputation for fighting dirty and bending the rules. He's a powerhouse in the ring, but finds himself on the lower end of the list because his competition is so strong. Balrog is a lethal boxer, but that only gets him so far against opponents with superhuman or enhanced abilities.
13 E. Honda
E. Honda (Hirooki Goto) is a mighty sumo wrestler, famous for his 'Hundred Hand Slap' attack. He's also featured in the 1994 movie and the animated Street Fighter II film.
As a sumo wrestler, E. Honda is disciplined and highly trained. He would make an intimidating opponent in a sumo ring with sumo wrestling rules. However, he doesn't have supernatural abilities, nor is he a trained killer, like many of his contemporaries.
Time will tell if we see E. Honda uses its gravity-defying Sumo Headbutt in the upcoming movie, but it's hard to justify placing the beloved sumo wrestler any higher.
12 Vega
Vega (Orville Peck) is one of the toughest characters to place on the list. He's a sadistic fighter, obsessed with beauty, and almost always wears a mask. He also has a deadly claw on one hand, which has seen many iterations.
We've seen some evidence of Vega's skill in previous movies. In Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, he famously squares off against Chun Li. It's a bloody, visceral battle where Chun-Li emerges the victor.
Vega is also an athletic fighter known for his mobility and for diving around the arena in the games. Despite his credentials, it's hard to place Vega any higher on the list. He lacks superhuman abilities and cannot compete with established fighters unless he has the upper hand from the start.
11 Blanka
Blanka (Jason Momoa) is another tough fighter to place because he's mostly unproven in the movies and isn't a main character in the video games. In the 1994 movie, Blanka has a tragic backstory: M. Bison experiments on him, resulting in his wild appearance.
Blanka has beast-like strength, explaining his unique combat style. He can also discharge electricity, making him the first fighter on this list with superhuman abilities.
His powers and brutish style make him a fearsome opponent, but he lacks the training and track record of fighters higher on the list.
10 Zangief
Much like Blanka and Vega, Zangief (Olivier Richters) is a challenging fighter to rank on the list. He's a formidable, hulking wrestler and could snap most opponents in half given the opportunity. The Russian wrestler finds himself lower on the list, as you could argue whether many other fighters would give him that chance.
Zangief is infamous in the games for his suffocating play style, where he relentlessly pushes his opponents into the corner before grappling them into submission. Nobody can deny his power in a 1v1 situation where battles are up close and personal.
However, there's nothing to suggest that Zangief is a trained killer or has superhuman powers. He's a mighty wrestler, but that title only gets you so far in Street Fighter.
9 Juli
Juli (Rayna Vallandingham) is arguably the most obscure character confirmed for the upcoming film. She briefly appeared in several games, but is only playable in Street Fighter Alpha 3.
Given what we know about Juli, her credentials already place her in the middle of the pack on this list. She's one of the Shadaloo Dolls, making her an elite assassin.
She's fast and mobile, and her training would ensure that Juli would never take a battle unless she had an advantage first.
8 Cammy
Cammy (Mel Jarnson) is a unique character in Street Fighter with a rich backstory. She's a highly trained UK special forces operative. In some lore, she was also one of the Shadaloo Dolls before breaking free of the program's brainwashing.
In the games, Cammy is a fan-favorite. She's agile and famous for her Spiral Arrow and Cannon Spike attacks. She ranks slightly higher than Juri on the list, thanks to her special forces training.
Cammy is similarly strong compared to the next two fighters, although she places lower than them, thanks to several notable fights. For example, C.Viper effortlessly beats her in Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind.
7 Guile
Cody Rhodes plays Guile in the upcoming film, and his power level is all over the place depending on what lore you reference. He's one of the strongest fighters in the 1994 live-action movie, beating M. Bison in an unforgettable showdown.
Outside that film, Guile is always portrayed as an elite military fighter. He's a highly trained soldier with extensive battlefield experience. He's also a proven strategist, which offers Guile a specialist set of advantages.
We see Guile use his Flash Kick attack to smash an opponent through a wall in the 2026 Street Fighter movie trailer, so we know he's a force to be reckoned with. Time will tell whether his military training holds up against the antagonists in the upcoming film.
6 Chun-Li
Chun-Li (Callina Liang) is one of the most iconic fighters in the entire Street Fighter roster. She's one of the strongest women in the world, with a proven track record. Chun-Li has also caused 3rd Strike players immeasurable grief over the years, as she's arguably the most powerful character in that game.
Video game trivia aside, Chun-Li also has her own spin-off movie, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. She's beaten Vega multiple times and is a powerful martial artist with field experience. The character is known for her legendary Spinning Bird Kick and beating her foes into submission with precise, lightning-fast attacks.
