The summer of 2026 is kicking off with a wide variety of movies coming to theaters, including the newest entry in the Scary Movie franchise, a new live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe, Steven Spielberg’s latest sci-fi project, the return of Woody and Buzz, and a lot more. As we reach the mid-point of 2026, it has to be said that this has been a great year for movies, with hits across different genres, such as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary, the sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2, and the horror movie Obsession.

June 2026 will see the long-awaited return of Anna Faris and the Wayans brothers to the Scary Movie franchise, Nicholas Galitzine’s debut as He-Man, a new sci-fi movie by Steven Spielberg, one more Toy Story adventure, the final pranks and stunts from the Jackass crew, and the latest movie in the DC Universe led by Kara Zor-El a.k.a. Supergirl.

Scary Movie is the sixth installment in the Scary Movie franchise, serving as a spiritual sequel to the first two movies. Directed by Michael Tiddes, Scary Movie reunites the main characters of the franchise – Cindy (Anna Faris), Brenda (Regina Hall), Shorty (Marlon Wayans), and Ray (Shawn Wayans) – when the masked killer they faced 26 years ago returns. Of course, Scary Movie will parody many horror movies, and among the chosen ones are Weapons, M3GAN, Sinners, and the Scream reboot movies.

Also part of the cast of Scary Movie are Dave Sheridan (returning as Doofy), Jon Abrahams (reprising his role as Bobby), Cheri Oteri (as Gail Hailstorm), Lochlyn Munro (as Greg), Chris Elliot (returning as Hanson), Damon Wayans Jr., and Heidi Garner, among others.

Adam discovers that Eternia has been destroyed and is now ruled by Skeletor, a powerful warlord and sorcerer.
