Every Enemy In Black Ops 6 Zombies, Ranked By Difficulty

1 week ago 5

The latest edition of the popular Zombies game mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has brought players back to the glory days of the subseries. After a few years of bizarre experiments, like open-world Warzone-style gameplay, Treyarch has reverted to the original formula — round-based Zombies. The two launch maps, Liberty Falls and Terminus, exhibited the best parts of modern Zombies with a relentless and entertaining experience, and the increasing intensity is demonstrated in the variety of enemies to face in Black Ops 6.

Similarly to many other Zombies maps in the past, Black Ops 6's take on Zombies features enemies that are consistent across both maps, but it also includes unique enemies specific to individual maps. Examples of these individual enemy types include the Astronaut Zombie from Moon, or the Space Monkeys from Ascension. In order to prepare for taking on the main Easter Egg questlines, or reaching high rounds, players must be aware of the types of enemies that will be part of the undead horde. This will help in making the necessary plans to prepare for the challenges in Black Ops 6.

7 Zombies

The Easiest Enemy To Handle

Despite being the namesake of the mode, the standard zombie enemy is comfortably the easiest to handle in Black Ops 6. They are essentially fodder for the player in the early rounds, and shouldn't cause many issues even for Black Ops 6 beginners. They will only require a few shots or melee hits to take down individually and are limited in their damage output.

They cause harm mainly from close combat, but they've been observed throwing parts of their own bodies at the player as a ranged move. This is evident in Terminus if players use the jet boat for too long. However, they shouldn't be underestimated. The more the undead mob builds as the rounds progress, the more the zombies will become a challenge.

Field Upgrades are special Augment abilities you can use in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, but certain powers work best when fighting the undead.

The swarm will eventually become too much to handle due to the sheer volume of anomalies, so it's important to avoid getting trapped in tight spaces. It will eventually be impossible to escape the hundreds of zombies. Despite this, the zombies can be controlled as long as the player's weaponry continues to be upgraded via the Armory. The Ammo Mods from this machine will greatly assist in game longevity.

6 Armored Zombies

An Upgraded Version Of The Undead

Armored Zombies are very similar to their standard compatriots, but they have a few upgrades, making them marginally better. They are armored with damage-resistant clothing, such as helmets, and bulletproof vests. This will require far more shots to take down due to this added protection and require the player to aim for weak areas for maximum effect. Once the armor has been destroyed, they will become a normal zombie.

Besides the armor, they act and attack in an identical way to the standard zombies, so they are slightly more difficult to take down. They will become more common as the rounds progress and, in later rounds, their bullet absorption will benefit them. At this point, they can disrupt the player's "train" (or queue of zombies to be killed), but this is inconvenient rather than being outright difficult.

5 Vermin

They Are Fast & Can Even Crawl Up Walls

A Max Ammo round is part of most Zombies maps, and in the Black Ops 6 launch maps, the player must take down waves of bugs in exchange for a restock of bullets. In Liberty Falls, the arachnid creatures known as Vermin take this role. These grotesque spider-like enemies benefit from a great level of speed.

Not only can Vermin easily keep up with a sprinting player, but they can even crawl along or up walls quickly, meaning that players must be vigilant at all times for ground and aerial attacks. The Vermin will also spawn outside of Max Ammo rounds, occasionally bursting out of a defeated zombie corpse.

Despite the Vermins agility, their attacks are generally not that powerful, and they can be eliminated pretty quickly with upgraded weaponry. In particular, the Vermin are vulnerable to the Cryofreeze ammo mod, meaning that they can be handled relatively easily when this correct equipment is utilized.

4 Parasite

Flying Insects That Attack With Acidic Bile

Parasites are Terminus's equivalent to Vermin in Liberty Falls. These will be familiar to Black Ops 3 Zombies fans, as they were heavily featured in the Shadows of Evil and Revelations maps. Their return in Black Ops 6 sees them become part of the Max Ammo rounds, meaning that players will have to face waves of them at a time.

They are flying bug creatures and attack players with acidic bile that damages and impairs visibility, which disorientates players whilst the persistent swarms attack. This is devastating in high rounds, as Terminus has low levels of visibility. Parasites are slightly more difficult to kill than Vermin, as they are literal evolutions of their arachnid counterparts.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies - How To Get Pack-A-Punch In Terminus

Pack-a-Punch plays a key role in powering up your weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies. Here's how to activate it and how it works.

If the player does not kill the pursuing Vermin for too long, the Parasite will burst out of the spider's abdomen. The Parasites' movement is more unpredictable as they dash and dart in the air, meaning that shots have to be especially accurate. However, it doesn't take many shots to defeat them, and they inherit the Cryofreeze weakness from their ancestors. They're irritating, but not devastating.

3 Amalgam

This Elite Zombie Type Chases The Player At Speed

The enemies onward will present a real threat to the player if they're unequipped and unprepared. Amalgams are an elite zombie type that will only appear in Terminus from round 16 onward. They are grotesque creatures, formed of a horrifying fusion of limbs, heads, and other zombie parts.

They do some devastating damage from close range, but their tendril grab move is especially powerful. It will bring the player toward the Amalgam, damaging the player when brought closer. Amalgams will pursue at a high speed, meaning that they are a persistent threat. Blindly shooting isn't enough to effectively take down an Amalgam, a process that requires proper strategy.

This is what makes the Amalgam more difficult than previous enemies. Focusing on glowing eyes on the creatures will do the most damage, as body shots are mostly inefficient. Any powerups or tactical abilities which will stun or delay the Amalgam are useful too. However, the biggest weakness they have is to the Dead Wire and Shadow Rift Ammo Mods, so equipping either of these in the Armory is necessary for any high round attempts on Terminus.

2 Mangler

Their Weaponry & Endless Frequency Make Them Extremely Dangerous

Manglers are more lethal than Amalgams in both maps of Black Ops 6 due to their weaponry and never-ending frequency. They are large zombie creatures equipped with a cannon arm that's augmented with Aetherium, one of the most powerful elements in the Zombies lore. These cannons will expel explosive energy projectiles, which will destroy everything in their way, including vehicles.

Their close-range melee attack will also take off a large portion of health or armor, and they will aggressively dash or charge at the player. Their powerful kit is overwhelming, especially when multiple spawn simultaneously. As Manglers spawn frequently as the rounds progress, knowing how to handle them is crucial to survival.

Terminus Vs Liberty Falls: Which Black Ops 6 Zombies Map is Better (& Why)

The new Black Ops 6 Zombies maps have been released to acclaim, but the better map can be identified for veterans and newcomers to Zombies.

They are heavily armored, and destroying this protective layer will reveal weak spots that should then be focused on. This is no easy task, however, unless the player has access to upgraded guns or Wonder Weapons. As the armor is depleted, the Manglers will become increasingly aggressive and hastily charge at the player. The easiest way to effectively lower their health is by using the Napalm Burst Ammo Mod, on an upgraded gun with Pack-a-Punch.

1 Abomination

This One Combines The Best Features Of The Previous Creatures

The most dangerous and difficult enemy in Black Ops 6 is the Abomination in Liberty Falls. This creature is reminiscent to the Margwa in Black Ops 3; a three-headed zombie creature that will devastate any player. It's an incredibly aggressive monster that combines all the previous creatures' best features in Black Ops 6 into one powerful creation.

Black Ops 6 Has A Hilarious Easter Egg In Liberty Falls You'll Definitely Want To Find

Liberty Falls in Black Ops 6 features a simple but humorous Easter Egg that's definitely worth checking out, especially as a change of pace.

The Abomination can deal a huge amount of damage both in close proximity and through ranged attacks. Its two most lethal attacks are its charge move and beam strike. In some scenarios, the Abomination will lock on and charge with force, which will take off a huge chunk of the player's health and temporarily stun them too. When the player is dazed, the whole HUD will be removed, causing additional disorientation. As a ranged attack, the Abomination emits an electrical beam that will vaporize health in seconds.

The agile and aggressive attacks of the Abomination make it the biggest threat to players, aside from only the bosses. To defeat them, players must aim for the glowing weak spots whilst using the Brain Rot and Napalm Burst Ammo Mods for maximum effect. These upgrades are essential for those who aim for high rounds on Liberty Falls, as the Abomination will only prove to be a greater challenge. As it is the most dangerous and difficult enemy to defeat in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, it pays to be wary of the Abomination.
