Ethan Hawke is coming back as Batman in a DC series next month. Hawke is one of the many actors who have played Batman over the years. As DC's most popular hero, there have been several Batman adaptations in movies and TV shows, including both live-action projects and animated releases. Right now, many are focused on how Matt Reeves' The Batman - Part II has suffered multiple delays, with the director himself being replaced for the rest of the shoot with Steven Soderbergh as Reeves deals with a personal matter. James Gunn's DCU will also cast a new Batman in the future.

That actor will lead Batman's The Brave and the Bold movie and appear in any other future DCU releases as the Dark Knight, with fan-favorite candidates for the role including Brandon Sklenar, Paul Anthony Kelly, Alan Ritchson, and more. At 55, Hawke is slightly older than previous DCEU movie franchise Batman star Ben Affleck, and thus would not make sense for the DCU version of Bruce Wayne. That said, the actor joined the long line of animated Batman voice actors years ago when Batwheels was first released. Now, Hawke is set to return as his unique version of Batman in November.

Hawke's Batwheels Is About To Rev Back Up On HBO Max

Hawke's Batwheels season 3G premieres on HBO Max on November 6, finally concluding the DC animated series' ongoing season. Batwheels season 3, like previous entries in the hit DC series, was divided into several batches of episodes, which usually had a gap of a few months before they dropped on HBO Max. While the show's future beyond its ongoing season was up in the air, that has also been decided. Batwheels season 4 is officially set to debut on HBO Max on November 27, meaning DC fans will not even go a month without new episodes featuring Hawke's Batman this time.

Hawke has been voicing Batman for a long time. The actor started working on Batwheels back when the DC series premiered on September 17, 2022. Batwheels focuses on the Bat-Family's vehicles, each with independent personalities and their own thoughts, like Pixar's famous Cars franchise. That includes fighting other sentient cars connected to major DC villains, such as the Joker, Bane, and many more. However, the vehicles are not the only stars of the show, as Hawke plays a comics-accurate, stoic Batman, with many DC heroes, such as Nightwing, the Flash, and Aquaman, appearing. DC villains, like Poison Ivy, Clayface, and more, also show up.

Where Did The Hit Batman Show Last Leave Off?

The most recent Batwheels episodes came to HBO Max this month, with the latest being "Green Arrow Down," which was released on the streaming service on October 17. As the episode's title makes it clear, one of the heroes in trouble is the Justice League member Green Arrow. The episode also features Batman-related heroes, including Hawke's Dark Knight himself, as well as Robin and Batgirl. The fact that Batwheels season 4 is confirmed to begin airing new episodes on HBO Max on November 27, the same month season 3 ends, marks a first for the Batman series, doing away with longer gaps.
