Emma Roberts Marries Cody John in Charming Idaho Wedding
Eric Roberts is addressing his absence from a major milestone in his daughter’s life.
After Emma Roberts married Cody John in Idaho, The Dark Knight actor—who shares the American Horror Story actress with ex Kelly Cunningham—spoke out about not attending the couple’s big day.
“I love my daughter, always have, always will,” Eric told Page Six in a July 27 statement. “It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants.”
E! News has reached out to a representative for Emma for comment but has not yet heard back.
Emma, 35, and Cody, 36, tied the knot in a charming outdoor wedding on July 25.
For the occasion, the bride stunned in a vintage-inspired Monique Lhuillier gown that featured a removable shawl. Meanwhile, Cody opted for a chocolate brown suit, as seen in photos obtained by Page Six, that paired perfectly with the nature surrounding the altar.
Though Eric didn’t make an appearance at the ceremony, the intimate nuptials put family front and center as the Wild Child star’s 5-year-old son Rhodes—with whom she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund—was pictured walking his mom down the aisle in another sweet snap shared by the outlet.
Also present at the wedding was Emma’s aunt Julia Roberts, who attended the event alongside her husband Danny Moder.
The couple's big day comes months after Eric shared insight into his and Emma’s tumultuous relationship.

“It’s only complicated through outside eyes,” Eric explained on the April 5 episode of Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson, “because they don’t get any of it. So, they have their own take, whatever that is.”
And he set the record straight on one aspect of their relationship, adding, “I’m so proud of my kid.”
But the 70-year-old also acknowledged his faults while raising the Aquamarine actress, sharing he wasn’t in a good place emotionally when Emma was born due to his struggles with drug addiction.
“I was a wash rag,” he confessed. “I was not to be depended on emotionally whatsoever.”
Describing himself as a “car wreck” at the time, Eric noted that he now takes “full responsibility for it.”
