Though we usually know a week in advance what games the Epic Games Store is offering for free, Epic kept this week's new games a mystery, as it has the past couple weeks. Once revealed, those surprise games turned out to be a couple of great, positively rated PC games. Calico and Lonestar are free to claim for a limited time.

In Calico, you'll rebuild a town's cat cafe. (I'm sold!) Decorate it how you want and fill it with furniture that matches your style, and watch as the cats (and customers) come pouring in. The cats are all interactive, and you can name them, play with them, and run around with them on top of your head. Cat-loving gamers have fall for Calico as it has nearly 2,700 "Very Positive" player reviews on Steam.

Lonestar

The other free game is Lonestar, a tactical roguelike deckbuilder. You play as a bounty hunter in command of a very cool spaceship, and you zoom through space looking for wanted criminals. There are many pilots to choose from to helm your spacecraft, including a couple of cat pilots. Lonestar has over 800 "Very Positive" player reviews on Steam.

If Calico or Lonestar catch your eye, all you need to do is log in to the Epic Games Store and claim them. The games will be free until Thursday, June 4, at 11 a.m. EDT.
