Emmy Awards 2026 nominations were announced on Wednesday and some of the biggest stars in Hollywood made for some of the biggest snubs and surprises.
Stephen Colbert may have been one of the biggest surprise nominees as his show The Late Show With Stephen Colbert was nominated in the Best Variety Series category.
The nod may have come as a shock to many as the late night chat show ended its run in May after CBS opted to not renew his contract in what was seen as a very controversial move.
He will be up against The Daily Show (Comedy Central), Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC), Last Week Tonight With John Oliver (HBO), and Saturday Night Live (NBC).
The Best Reality Competition Program category is contentious as it consists of: Dancing With the Stars (ABC), RuPaul’s Drag Race (MTV), Survivor (CBS), Top Chef (Bravo), and The Traitors (Peacock).
Past Emmy winners Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller revealed the nominations from the TV Academy's Saban Media Center.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star and Emmy Award winner Mariska Hargitay will host television's biggest night.
The 2026 Emmy Awards will air live on NBC and Peacock on Monday, September 14 at 8pm EST/ 5pm PST.
The Creative Arts Emmys, which is a ceremony where most of the Emmys trophies will be presented, are taking place a week earlier on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6.
