Bachelorette Emily Maynard’s Daughter Ricki Hendrick Gives Birth to First Baby
Ricki Hendrick’s latest motherhood update is sure to warm your heart.
Days after announcing the birth of her baby girl Romi, the daughter of former Bachelorette star Emily Maynard Johnson and late race car driver Ricky Henrick shared a glimpse of how she’s getting the newborn accustomed to the winter weather.
In a post on Instagram Feb. 1, Ricki, 20, shared a photo of herself in an oversized light gray sweater and dark sweatpants as she clutched Romi—outfitted in an adorable beige pram suit—in front of a blizzardy backdrop. In the caption, the new mom wrote, “romis first snow.”
Along with the sweet mother-daughter snap, Ricki—who has not shared the identity of her baby’s father—included a second shot in which she and Romi were joined by Carter Dyer, who sported a black coat, jeans and a gray hat. While she didn’t tag Carter in the post, she previously included a pic of him gazing at the infant in an Instagram Stories highlight, writing on the image, “We’ll be here.”
While Ricki is clearly embracing her new chapter, she made no secret of her less-than-pleasant experiences while pregnant. In fact, shortly after announcing her pregnancy in August, she admitted to dealing with uncomfortable symptoms while expecting her little one.
“Guys. Being pregnant is miserable,” she wrote in an Instagram Stories post in November. “I woke up at 2 for no reason, threw up 30 mins later, fell back asleep, woke up at 3:45, threw up again, fell BACK ASLEEP, WOKE UP AGAIN, THROWING UP NOW BC I’M HUNGRY, but ofc I can’t eat anything bc it will prolong the cycle.”
Fortunately, the difficulties proved to be worthwhile. After all, Emily’s husband Tyler Johnson—with whom she shares kids Jennings, 10, Gibson, 9, Gatlin, 8, Magnolia “Nola” Belle, 5, and Jones, 3—shared an Instagram carousel of pictures from the delivery room, writing that the feeling of being first-time grandparents was “inexpressible” before adding, “This is love.”
