‘Emily in Paris’ Lily Collins Reveals Who She Thinks Her Character’s One True Love Is
It is time to say au revoir to Paris—this time for good.
After five seasons of watching Lily Collins’ professional and romantic escapades across Europe as the endearingly optimistic Emily Cooper, Netflix confirmed the upcoming sixth installment of Emily in Paris will be the series’ last.
Lily took to Instagram to detail her “unforgettable” experience on the show, adding in the video shared to Instagram May 21, “Season six will bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime.”
And she promises the sendoff—which will see Emily head to Greece in pursuit of Lucas Bravo’s Gabriel, Emily’s first and perhaps truest European love—will be one to remember.
“Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into this a fantastic farewell season, which we’re now filming,” the 37-year-old confirmed. “I can’t wait for all of the magic ahead, and to celebrate our final season with you in the most chic way yet. We’re so incredibly grateful and we love you all.”
Shared alongside an additional announcement were images of Lily and show creator Darren Star basking in the Grecian sun as filming gets underway on the final season.
For Darren, the chapter marks a bittersweet end.
Netflix
“Making ‘Emily in Paris’ with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime,” he said in a statement shared to the show’s Instagram. “As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you.”
He added, “Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have Emily in Paris!”
After the announcement, series star—and Lily’s IRL BFF—Ashley Park shared a poignant homage to their friendship, both onscreen and off.
Netflix
Backed by Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna’s rendition of “Like a Prayer,” Ashley and Lily run towards each other through the cobblestoned streets of Greece.
“Together always,” Ashley, who portrays Mindy in the series, captioned the sweet moment. “When you call my name… no matter what city or season, I’ll be there for you…”
As for what fans can expect from season six, Darren previously teased Emily’s next—and now final—European adventure, including what to make of Gabriel’s offer to meet him in Greece.
“I hope Emily says yes to that invitation,” he told Deadline in December. “[As for] where that takes them, I think it definitely hints at the idea that they’ll stay in each other’s lives.”
While a release date has not yet been shared for Emily in Paris season six, there is plenty of TV to say bonjour to in the meantime—read on for more.
