Em Rusciano reveals traumatic radio ordeal while she was pregnant as email to 'diabolical' former colleague resurfaces

Em Rusciano has made some explosive claims about her 'traumatic' time working with a male radio star in a historic radio gig.

Rusciano, 47, shared several emotional videos to her Instagram Stories this week, claiming the way he treated her was 'diabolical'.

Though she did not name the person she had a falling out with, Rusciano went on to share an old email she sent to her radio bosses 'documenting' their behaviour.

'You know when you come across something that triggers a memory so strongly it takes you out?' Rusciano began, addressing fans online. 

'I was just searching for someone's email address and in the search, an email I'd sent to two of my bosses at the radio station I worked at about the way (they) were treating me came up. 

'I had documented all of his behaviour... behaviour that I was blaming myself for.' 

Rusciano went on to say that at the time of the treatment, she 'was pregnant and terrified of losing another baby'.  

'It was really stressful. With all the knowledge I have now, I know how to hold myself and I know my worth, I'm so sad for her [Em's past self],' she added. 

'I was putting up with a lot thinking it was my fault—all of it. Some of it was, but not all of it. 

'I don't know why I continue to protect this person because it was diabolical what he was doing to me. I had all this s***ty stuff written about me in the press. 

'That I was difficult and a diva and a b***h. I probably was all those things at some point. 

'It's not an excuse, but I was an undiagnosed neurodivergent person who had gone through a really traumatic pregnancy loss, getting up at 4am going into an unsafe work environment.'

Rusciano was diagnosed with ADHD in 2021 and then received an autism diagnosis in 2022. 

The media personality went on to say that she doesn't share the name of the person she is complaining about because she 'fears what will be said about her'. 

'But what's left? Everything has been said - I'm a bully, I'm a b***h, I'm impossible to work with, I'm difficult,' she said.

'I was so scared and so unsupported and told to smile. Again, I'm not saying I was a perfectly behaved victim... but Jesus Christ I was trying. 

'I realise I have been holding onto that shame and fear, and when I read the email... I don't care anymore. I don't care to protect this person. 

'I don't care to carry that around. I have worked so hard on myself to grow and be better and understand why I behaved in certain ways and not do it again. 

'That situation has had a chokehold on me. Like, I'm shaking and I'm not going to sleep tonight and I'm going to worry about what's going to be written about it. 

'I just had to let it out. I had to. I realise how far I've come, too. I've wrestled control back. I felt so out of control.'  

Rusciano finished by saying she didn't realise her experience in radio was still such a 'sore spot' for her, adding that she was 'having a proper traumatic response'. 

Following the videos, which saw her get choked up as she recounted her time on air, Rusciano then shared an email she had sent to the radio star trying to patch things up. 

'And despite all that, imagine then sending this to the person that was treating you in that way,' she captioned an image of the message she wrote.

The email to her former colleague read: 'So, I wanted to ask you to please outline the things that I'm doing to p*** you off, the things that I'm doing to make your experience of the show less, the things I can work on to make it easier to be in a team with me. Because I do want this show to work.' 

Rusciano revealed that he responded to the email by saying: 'I saw you sent me an email. I will not be reading it.'
