Elle Macpherson has debuted a bizarre new accent while promoting her collaboration with luxury fashion brand Linnea Lund.

The 62-year-old Australian supermodel surprised fans with her thick, European-like drawl as she appeared in a short Instagram clip spruiking the brand on Monday.

Beaming from behind a pair of chic sunglasses, Elle praised the brand's French-Swedish designer Charlotte Bjorklund, saying: 'I really wanted to do this collaboration with Charlotte because A, the quality, B, I love her, C, I love female founders.'

'Also, I wanted to do something she didn't have, that I wanted for myself.'

Elle's accent is worlds away from the Australian twang she had growing up.

Born and raised in Sydney, she shot to international fame in the 1980s before spending years living and working overseas, including extended periods in New York and London.

She also spent significant time travelling and working throughout Europe during her modelling career, and has since made the US her home.

As a result, Elle has adopted a more 'global' accent that has become harder and harder to define over the years.

Back in 2018, the mother-of-two revealed that her sons Flynn and Aurelius Cy also have completely different accents to each other.

'I do have one son who's 15 who has a very broad Australian accent and I have the other one who's 20 has an English accent,' she said.

Flynn was born in New York City, while Aurelius was born in London.

She shares both sons with her former partner, London-based French financier Arpad Busson.

The couple began dating in 1996 and spent almost a decade together, living between London and New York as their relationship became one of the most high-profile romances in the fashion world.

They welcomed Flynn in New York in 1998 and Aurelius in London in 2003, before splitting in 2005.

Elle later married Miami property billionaire Jeffrey Soffer in 2013, following several years of an on-again, off-again relationship.

The pair separated in 2017 after four years of marriage.

She subsequently began dating controversial British former doctor Andrew Wakefield, with the pair linked from 2017 until around 2019.

More recently, Elle was romantically linked to American musician Doyle Bramhall II, with the pair making their relationship public in 2022.

Bramhall, who was previously in a relationship with actress Renée Zellweger, and Elle appeared to embrace a similarly nomadic lifestyle, travelling together around the world.
