As part of The Game Awards 2024, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have announced a new Standalone entry in the Elden Ring series, Elden Ring: Nightreign. It’s set to arrive in 2025.
It will look familiar to anyone who played the original game, but is being described as a “standalone co-op action survival game.” Apparently, players need to “outlast a three day-and-night cycle” on a changing map. It’s set in a universe parallel to the events of Elden Ring. You choose from one of eight players. At the end of each night, you face off against a boss.
I’m not big into multiplayer, and I prefer to make my own character in these games, but from the information, this seems cool. It does say you can play solo, if you dare. Otherwise, the framework sounds kind of unique, not necessarily round-based, but short enough to pick up and play.
Elden Ring: Nightreign will arrive sometime in 2025 for PC, Xbox, and PC.
