Eddie Redmayne has revealed he accidentally chopped his finger off while cooking as he detailed the horrifying injury in a new interview.
The actor, 42, explained that he was still nursing his painful injury after he sliced off the tip while sharpening a kitchen knife.
The Theory of Everything star told The Sunday Times that he loves to cook and is proud of his collection of chef's knives.
However, he explained he recently got in to a nasty accident and told the publication: 'I'm not great. I am weirdly obsessed with cooking knives. So I got them sharpened and a chunk of this finger ended up on the chopping board.

Eddie, who is starring in Day of the Jackal (pictured), also revealed he is able to live a 'normal' life at home in London and still takes public transport
'It's gone. It's still bleeding aggressively. I'm slightly high on codeine.'
In the interview, Eddie also revealed he is able to live a 'normal' life at home in London and still takes public transport.
He manages to fly under the radar by avoiding making eye contact with his army of fans so they don't ask for selfies.
He explained: 'Well, I know people who pull away from normality, but I live in London and get around like everyone else. I sometimes get stopped for photos, but the other choice is to travel everywhere in cars, which is bloody expensive and takes for ever. You can either live behind gates or just pulverise through a bit
'I can live a totally normal life, so long as I don't make eye contact. The second you do, people recognise you - but, for me, you can make of fame what you want.'
Speaking about his children, Eddie shared his daughter Iris is trying to learn to play guitar because she's a massive fan of Taylor Swift.
Hannah and Eddie met in 2000 at a charity fashion show while attending Eton College, striking up a friendship.
They later started dating in January 2012 after Eddie invited her to a trip to Florence during a shooting break for Les Miserables.

During an appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show', the actor said: 'I ate a lot of chicken and lifted heavy things. I was working with a trainer who circled me like a shark and said: "There is a canvas to work with"

The couple got engaged in June 2014 and went on to tie the knot in December that year at the Babington House.
Eddie plays the lead in The Day Of The Jackal, which is an adaptation of a novel of the same name written by Frederick Forsythe.
During an appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show', the actor said: 'I ate a lot of chicken and lifted heavy things. I was working with a trainer who circled me like a shark and said: "There is a canvas to work with".
'[Training] was not fun, it was horrendous. You read a scene in the script that says: "He is topless, sinuous and ripped, and you think, "Oh f***, here comes the chicken diet".'
The premise of the series is: 'A manhunt takes place for a dangerous elusive assassin known only as the Jackal [Redmayne],' per an IMDB synopsis.
The Oscar winner will bag £10million overall for his role as the titular character, who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee.
The Day of the Jackal premieres on Sky Atlantic and NOW on November 7.
Eddie's candid confession comes after he was shamed by fellow actress Saoirse Ronan on national television.
Fellow Irishman Paul Mescal and Eddie were caught up in a toe-curling moment on Friday as they appeared on The Graham Norton Show alongside Denzel Washington and Saoirse - the only female guest on the panel.
A typical conversation on Norton's sofa was in full flow when an anecdote by Eddie about training for his upcoming miniseries The Day of the Jackal led to a moment to forget for the four male celebrities.
Eddie recalled how he was trained to use a phone to retaliate in the event of an attack.
But a guffawing Paul interjected by asking: 'Who is actually going to think about that? If someone actually attacked me, I'm not going to go 'phone'.'
As an unimpressed Saoirse stayed silent, host Graham, 61, mimicked holding a phone to fend off an attacker and joked, 'Can you hold on a second?' to which Eddiw laughed and replied, 'That's a very good point.'
Having been unable to get a word in, Saoirse, 30, waited for her moment before silencing the sofa of men by reminding them: 'That's what girls have to think about all the time.'
The eruption of laughter came to a sudden stop before Saoirse turned to the crowd and asked 'Am I right, ladies?', eliciting a huge round of applause.
The viral moment has led to Saoirse being widely praised for standing up for women, while the male celebrities have sparked a backlash.
