An eastern suburbs socialite's 'get ready with me' video has taken a dark turn as she revealed she was preparing to visit her father, who spent 50 days in a coma following an accident in Thailand, in hospital.
Casey James, a model and co-founder of Copini Beauty, took to Instagram on Thursday to open up about her father's health ordeal while applying her makeup in front of the camera.
The influencer, who has been raising funds to bring her father back to Australia, revealed he was finally well enough to fly home after spending seven weeks in a coma.
While 'get ready with me' videos are usually light-hearted, Casey struck a sombre tone as she applied lip liner and recounted the distressing ordeal her family had endured since her father's accident.
She said that Thursday marked 50 days since the accident and she was overwhelmed with emotion as she prepared to visit him in hospital.
The wife of Ray White Double Bay real estate agent Warren Ginsberg explained her father had originally been due to return to Australia on September 19, but the family's plans were thrown into disarray after a medical evacuation company allegedly failed to deliver on its promise.

She said she had arranged for a UK-based medical evacuation company to transport her father home, paying $100,000 upfront for the service.
'Long story short, the plane never came,' she said.
'I left Thailand a few days before, thought he was in good hands, and he would be on a flight within a few days, and we paid upfront.'
Casey alleged the company stopped responding to her family on the night her father was supposed to be flown home.
'The plane never arrived and we haven't heard from them since,' she said.
The family was subsequently forced to find another medical evacuation company, which Casey said had been 'incredible'.
Despite the setback, there was some positive news about her father's condition.

Casey revealed he had started breathing on his own and had not suffered any seizures, eventually improving enough to be cleared to fly back home.
'Now he's been fit enough to fly back to Australia. Fifty days later, my dad is finally coming back to Australia,' she said.
As she continued getting ready, Casey briefly turned her attention to her beauty routine.
'Lip liner that we're testing,' she said.
She then thanked her followers for their support throughout the ordeal, crediting their generosity with helping bring her father home.
'You guys are the reason why we've been able to get my dad back to Australia,' she said.
Casey also expressed her anger at those she believes took advantage of her family's vulnerable situation.
'I guess that's why, because I was an easy target, and for people to take advantage of that is a disgrace,' she said.

With her father's medical bills mounting, Casey launched a GoFundMe campaign with her cousin, Bridgette Pereira, seeking to raise $250,000
She later confirmed that her father had finally come out of his coma and said she was on her way to visit him in hospital.
In a caption accompanying the video, Casey described the past 50 days as 'one of the worst rollercoasters' of her life.
She said she felt an overwhelming sense of relief knowing her father was finally back on Australian soil and thanked everyone who had donated to help bring him home.
'Without the love, support and donations from so many of you, I genuinely would not have been able to get Dad home,' she wrote.
Casey first shared her father's ordeal back in August.
At the time, she told her followers that he was fighting for his life in a Bangkok hospital after suffering a brain bleed and a serious fall.
Her father was found unconscious in his hotel room two days after the incident and had to undergo multiple emergency brain surgeries, including having part of his skull removed to relieve pressure and swelling.
He was placed in an induced coma and remained in critical condition in intensive care.

The ordeal came just two years after Casey lost her mother to cancer.
With her father's medical bills mounting, Casey launched a GoFundMe campaign with her cousin, Bridgette Pereira, seeking to raise $250,000.
At the time, the family said they had already incurred more than $135,000 in medical expenses, with intensive care costing approximately $50,000 a week.
The cost of bringing him home to Australia was initially estimated at $500,000. The campaign has since raised $99,722.
