EastEnders star Matt Lapinskas reveals his wife Karina is pregnant with their 'miracle' first baby after 'a long time hoping, dreaming and wishing' to become parents

EastEnders star Matt Lapinskas has revealed his wife Karina Hind is pregnant with their 'miracle' first baby after 'a long time hoping, dreaming and wishing'. 

The soap actor, who played Anthony Moon from 2011-2012, and was in Hollyoaks in 2023 as Alex Ramsden, took to Instagram to share the news.

He added a caption reading: 'Our greatest role yet… coming 2027. After a long time hoping, dreaming and wishing for this moment, our little miracle is finally on the way.

'Our hearts are completely full, and we feel incredibly blessed to be stepping into our new roles as Mum & Dad. Life has always been an adventure, but this next chapter is one we've dreamed of more than anything. We can't wait to meet you, little one...

The couple tied the knot in May last year. 

Matt has long been a hit of the soap world, however he said farewell to EastEnders in 2012 when his contract was not renewed. 

Discussing his exit at the time, he said: 'When Lorraine Newman came in I went up to have a meeting with her and she told me they weren't renewing my contract. I was like, 'Oh. Ok'

'We went to an awards ceremony the next couple of days, someone said to me and Tony [Discipline] (who played Tyler Moon), because we always used to do interviews together, 'The Moon boys have taken the Square by storm, we can't wait to see what's next for you.' 

'But I'd been told I wasn't allowed to say that I was leaving. So it was a moment of like, 'Oh… it's going to be good!''
