EastEnders star Danny Hatchard has announced his engagement to his longtime partner Kerry Scouler.

The soap star, who played the role of Lee Carter, began dating the model six years ago after she slid into his DMs to confess her crush on him.

Fast-forward to today, and the pair are now set to tie the knot after Danny popped the question during a romantic boat trip in Amsterdam.

The pair shared their happy news in a post uploaded to Kerry's Instagram feed on Sunday morning.

In a series of beaming snaps, the couple enjoyed a glass of champagne while the bride-to-be held up her hand to show off her sparkling ring.

The bride-to-be proudly showcased her new diamond accessory.

In the caption, Kerry penned: 'You & me forever? Don't mind if 'I do'.'

Kerry and Danny first crossed paths in 2020, when she messaged him to say she fancied his character Lee on Albert Square.

It clearly worked and they went on to hard launch their relationship in December that year when she and Danny holidayed in Cyprus.

'Truly blessed by you,' she captioned the loved-up pics.

Throughout the years, the pair have kept their relationship low-key, but have continued to share glimpses into their life together with a joint social media account for comedy sketches.

Meanwhile Danny first arrived in Walford 12 years ago as the eldest son of then-Queen Vic landlords Mick and Linda Carter.

He returned after serving as a corporal in the British Army.

The actor has been in and out of the BBC soap since 2019, but his last appearance as Lee was in 2024 during a special episode, which explored what would happen if Linda died from her alcoholism.

However, he recently confirmed he'll be back again soon with Nancy actress Maddy Hill.

Danny recently confirmed that he will be back on EastEnders

Promising 'explosive' scenes, he said: 'Well, I can't say too much about the timescale of when he actually returns, but what I can tell you is that I'm filming at the moment, and it's a very explosive return.'

He added to Digital Spy: 'It is my most exciting return yet. This is my fourth return, and I've got a lot to sink my teeth into. Let's just say that.'

Danny added that he doesn't even know how his return will factor into Linda's exit, which will happen early next year.

On her return, Maddy told the BBC: 'I am SO excited to be returning to Enders for a short stint and stepping back into Nancy's shoes (or basketball shorts!).

'I've missed her! I'm especially looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and acting alongside my incredible on-screen family.'

Executive Producer Ben Wadey added: 'We are absolutely thrilled to have Maddy and Danny back in Walford, bringing two much-loved pieces of the Carter family back together.

'And whilst Linda is delighted to have her children all together again, she's got a lot to catch up on…'
