EastEnders actress Sophie Khan Levy announces she's pregnant as she films her final scenes as Priya Nandra-Hart

EastEnders star Sophie Khan Levy has announced she is pregnant as her permanent exit from the BBC soap opera was broadcast on Tuesday night.

In a goodbye video shared by the show, the heavily pregnant actress, 37, showcased her baby bump after filming her final scenes as Priya Nandra-Hart. 

Sophie told the cast: 'I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of the fans and viewers of the show.

'I’ve been so proud and happy to be part of this family for three years. I can't believe I have to leave, but I do because there's something coming imminently 

'I can’t believe it’s already been three years, it doesn’t feel like that long. And it also feels like forever.

'Thank you for having me and let’s see… watch this space. Who knows if Priya will make a return?'

Sophie hasn't posted about her real-life pregnancy until now or revealed her partner’s identity.

Fans were sad to see Sophie go as they wrote in the comments: 'Wait why's she leaving?!'

'She's left for good?' and 'Did not see this coming. Can't believe today's scenes were her last. Best of luck to Sophie. Hope she comes back in the future though because I love Priya.' 

Sophie's character Priya had been embroiled in a secret, months-long affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood), resulting in her falling pregnant.

Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) uncovered a hidden DNA test which confirmed Max is the father of their unborn child. 

Cindy then blackmailed Priya, who is the estranged ex-partner of Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), and demanded she leave Albert Square immediately. 

Priya rejected Ravi's offer to help raise her son and got a taxi to Leeds to have a fresh start. 

Sophie joined the soap in 2023 and instantly became a fan favourite.
