Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris's camp has shared an update amid his health ordeal.

It was revealed in a Facebook post on Thursday that the 58-year-old musician will need to undergo 'two major surgeries' following a 'cardiac incident' earlier this month.

A lengthy statement from the Standing for John Paris page outlined that Paris woke up from a medically induced coma for a second time, and his 'blood pressure remained stable,' which allowed 'doctors to continue evaluating his condition.'

It was noted that, 'John will remain in the ICU longer than everyone had hoped while his medical team carefully prepares him for the next phase of his treatment.'

There was also a statement from the drummer's wife Kathy, who has been supporting him along with their daughter Kyla.

She said: 'This journey is definitely a marathon, but JP is fighting every single day and our hope is strong. Please keep the prayers, love, and light coming for John, Kathy, Kyla, and the entire family.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to a representative for Paris for comment but has yet to hear back.

The hopeful post continued, 'John has already overcome obstacles that once seemed impossible, and while there is still a long road ahead, each step forward gives everyone around him renewed hope.

'We know so many of you have been faithfully praying, sending messages of encouragement, and thinking about John every day.'

It was stated that the public's 'love and support continue to lift John, Kathy, Kyla, and the entire family during this journey.'

And the correspondence assured, 'We will share updates as we are able and when there is meaningful news to report.'

Lastly, there was another push for Paris's GoFundMe fundraiser, which has currently reached 91% of its $90,000 goal.

'With John's recovery requiring a longer stay in the ICU and additional surgeries ahead, Kathy will be by his side much longer than anyone originally anticipated.

'Your continued generosity helps ease the unexpected burdens so she can remain focused on what matters most—being there for John,' read the post.

Paris, 58, was hospitalized on August 13 ahead of the band's show with Lionel Richie at San Francisco's Chase Center, per TMZ.

The San Francisco Fire Department confirmed a fire engine and private ambulance responded to the venue for a 'cardiac incident,' and one person was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

A statement from the band last week read, 'We are unable to perform as scheduled tonight at Chase Center in San Francisco due to a medical emergency involving a member of our band.

'As a result, tonight’s show with Lionel Richie will be rescheduled, with a new date to be announced soon. Ticket holders should retain their tickets, which will be honored for the new date, or refunds will be available at the point of purchase. We sincerely apologize for the unexpected change and appreciate everyone’s understanding.'

Earth, Wind & Fire burst onto the music scene in 1975 with the number one single Shining Star and went on to have a string of hits through the late 70s and early 80s.

The group released the song September in 1978, which remains one of their biggest hits, and was added to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry in 2018.

They have won seven Grammys.
