Eamonn Holmes has undetaken a new career venture amid the GB News cost-cutting shake-up, it was announced on Tuesday.

While the presenter, 65, is continuing his stint on the news channel, his co-host Isabel Webster is set to be replaced as part of a number of major changes announced by the broadcaster.

Isabel will be replaced by Ellie Costello, 31, as host of the breakfast show programme during the working week.

The 41-year-old, who had previously worked for Sky News and the BBC, had been a part of the show since it launched in 2022.

Presenter Mark Dolan also announced on Wednesday evening that he had been 'relieved from his duties'.

Despite the shake-up being ongoing, Eamonn has announced a new opportunity he has decided to take on alongside his colleague and friend Paul Coyte.

Eamonn was left reeling after his GB News co-star Isabel was sacked just before Christmas.

A TV source said Eamonn is 'gutted' at the news that he has already presented his last show with Isabel.

The insider told The Sun: 'Eamonn has loved working with Isabel over the years and they're incredibly popular with viewers as a duo. They were both fully expecting to reunite in 2025 after doing their final show of the year yesterday.

'It was a real shock to everyone involved. Eamonn's gutted about it and the fact that he's been blindsided has made it even worse.

Isabel's been a massive source of comfort to him during a terribly difficult year following his separation from Ruth [Langsford]. He's still reeling from the news.'

'Mark's [Dolan] viewing figures were not good', the same source said, but added that his Saturday night show was up against Strictly Come Dancing.

As word spread about Isabel leaving, Eamonn shared a snap of them together on his Instagram story.

Mark Dolan is out and Jacob Rees-Mogg has seen his hours halved

Isabel had earlier posted a snap of the pair on the Breakfast Show, writing: 'Final show from us for 2024.

'Thanks for your company this year. See you soon!

'Merry Christmas - I hope you all find some peace and joy.'

One insider said that his flip-flopping on Brexit over the years had not helped him with bosses and some viewers.

Former Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg is another GB News presenter to be hit by changes at the station.

He had been hosting his State of the Nation programme four nights a week - on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

But now he will only broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Mark and Isabel have been asked for comment by Mail Online. Jacob has also been approached.
