Eamonn Holmes has sparked speculation he is engaged to Katie Alexander after she was spotted wearing a large ring on her engagement finger during a romantic getaway to Paris last week.

The TV star, 65, has been dating counsellor Katie, 43, since his split from Ruth Langsford, 64, and has reportedly spoken openly of his hopes to tie the knot.

Eamonn and Loose Women star Ruth announced their plans to divorce in June after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.

'Eamonn has been talking openly about his plans to marry Katie and has made it clear he wants to spend the rest of his life with her,' a source told The Sun

'They’re already living together and he knows it feels right. They have a very strong connection and get on very well.

'She has given him a real lust for life and she looks after him.'

Katie was noticeably not wearing the ring earlier this month

In pictures obtained by the publication, the couple headed to the Louvre, with Katie wearing a gold diamond ring on her engagement finger.

The counsellor was not pictured wearing the band at a Christmas carol concert in West London on December 5.

MailOnline has contacted Eamonn's representatives for comment.

Katie has reportedly told friends she is in for 'the long haul' with the GB News host.

She has been helping Eamonn through the split from Ruth, with the couple heading on holiday together in recent months.

But her friends say she is at pains to point out that their friendship has only grown close once the marriage was over in May.

An onlooker said at the time: 'Katie certainly seems to be able to put a smile back on Eamonn’s face. They seem genuinely besotted with each other.'

The getaway reportedly left Eamonn's estranged wife Ruth shocked, with the Ibiza holiday occurring just four months after the former golden couple announced they were divorcing.

They then made their first public appearance as a couple at The Irish Post Awards last month, but the former GMB presenter requested that photographers not take pictures of them together.

Katie met Eamonn on X in 2015 after she commented on a post and it sparked a conversation.

Last October he attended a charity fundraising event in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and became a patron. Katie has worked for the charity as a therapist.

It was reported last month Ruth has hired a 'fierce' divorce lawyer amid the bitter split.

As reported by The Sun, Catherine Costley has been called up by Loose Women host Ruth who seeks to end her 14-year marriage to Eamonn with a financial settlement.

Ms Costley is known for her fierce approach to divorce settlements and has said all women should have a 'go bag' fund when exiting a relationship, according to The Sun.

The divorce lawyer was once an apprentice of 'Steel Magnolia' Baroness Fiona Shackleton, Britain's highest-profile divorce lawyer who famously represented Charles in his split from Diana in 1996.

Baroness Shackleton has also worked with A-list stars including Paul McCartney, Liam Gallagher and Madonna, and was once doused with water in court by a furious Heather Mills while representing the Beatles legend during the couple's divorce in 2008.

Meanwhile Eamonn is said to have has 'no hard feelings' towards ex Ruth  and is simply concentrating on 'living his life' despite reports that he was 'seething' over her recent trip to Australia.

A source told MailOnline that Eamonn was baffled by reports he was raging over her long-haul flight because he had always struggled to get Ruth to travel with him during their marriage.

They said: 'It's all nonsense. He's living his life and there are no hard feelings. He's never flown into a rage and it's just laughable that he would.'

Ruth has just returned from her quick trip to Australia, for her I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! appearance.

While a number of the former couple's friends were at the bash, Ruth, 64, was noticeably absent as she filmed ITV2 spin-off show I'm A Celebrity Unpacked.

It had been reported that Eamonn was 'completely baffled and a bit hurt' by Ruth's appearance on the show Down Under as she always told him she hated flying.

Meanwhile Ruth caused Loose Women to suddenly cut to a break earlier this week when she mentioned her divorce from Eamonn

Making a rare comment on the situation, Ruth weighed on how 'selfish' some parents can be when it comes to making their children pick sides after a divorce.

During a conversation on Loose Women, she suggested that so far their divorce has not been going 'well'.

Ruth appeared on the daytime programme alongside her co-hosts Coleen Nolan, Kelly Holmes and Mariella Frostrup as they discussed making children choose between their parents and their potential partner.

Earlier this week Ruth caused Loose Women to suddenly cut to a break when she mentioned her divorce from Eamonn

Making a rare comment on the situation, Ruth weighed on how 'selfish' some parents can be when it comes to making their children pick sides after a divorce

Mariella started off by saying: 'I just think it's madness. You know for a fact, no matter what position you take in your child's life, if you entrench yourself too deeply they are going to do the opposite thing anyway.'

She continued: 'How on earth would the inclusion of someone in family life be worth the jeopardy of not talking to your child anymore, I just can't imagine it.'

Coleen also shared her opinion as she explained: 'I think it is important for parents to let their children find out for themselves and it might work out and they spend the rest of their lives together but it might be that they end up heartbroken and that's when as a parent you step in.'

Talk soon turned to how divorced parents handle those types of situations and Ruth went on to admit: 'I think it's very selfish when you hear parents say well if they are divorced then I'm not coming to your wedding if he's coming or if she is there and I just think it's so selfish isn't it because it is their day.'

Mariella jumped in and said: 'That's a whole other subject isn't it? How to divorce well.'

Ruth took aim at her recent split from Eamonn as she replied: 'Oh tell me about it.'

Everyone looked surprised before Ruth added: 'Anyway funnily it's now time for a break'.
