Dragons' Den star Sara Davies reveals she 'can afford a private jet but chooses to fly Ryanair' as she wants to instil 'the right values' in her sons.

The businesswoman, 41, who is thought to be worth a whopping £37million, joined the Dragon's Den panel in 2019 before stepping away last year.

But despite her huge net worth, 'frugal' Sara has insisted she doesn't live as lavish a life as people would expect.

Speaking to Woman And Home for their June cover issue, Sara said that she wants to make sure her sons Oliver and Charlie - who she shares with her husband of 27 years Simon - know the value of money.

She said: 'At an airport, I once overheard someone say, "That's Sara Davies, that Dragon", and someone replied, "It's not. There's only Ryanair flights leaving. She's probably got a private jet".

'We were travelling to Spain and I could have afforded a private jet, but I don't want my kids thinking we can fly that way when the Benidorm bus works just fine.'

She added: 'I think, "How do I bring up my kids in the same way and instil the right values when I'm in a really different place to where my parents were?"

'My mam had me working in our family shop from the age of five, polishing and hoovering, so in the holidays the boys help out in my sister's business, tidying wallpaper samples, like I used to.

'They work hard for their pocket money.'

Talking about her attitude to money, Sara said: 'I'll always be naturally frugal. Being able to afford something and feeling right to have it are different.

'It's why I only buy smoked salmon when it's on sale.'

Elsewhere in the chat, Sara made a rare comment about her husband Simon, who she described as the 'wind beneath my wings'.

She said: 'I've never had my heart broken. Simon and I have been together for 27 years – I was 15 when we got together. He's my first boyfriend and I'm his first girlfriend.

'I've always had the security of someone caring about me and letting me shine. Simon's not interested in being a part of this celebrity life. He takes pleasure from seeing the family thrive.

'The other day, we got back late from skiing and I fell asleep putting the kids to bed. He quietly unpacked the cases, put the washing on and set my alarm so I could still get my eight hours' sleep.

'He never asks for thanks. He's just behind the scenes, making everything happen. He’s the wind beneath my wings.'

It comes after Sara revealed exactly what she eats in a day after losing three dress sizes.

She lost a significant amount of weight in 2024 by following a nutritionists plan after struggling with 'restrictive diets'.

She also does strength training every week and often runs at 6am with other school mums, while prioritising making 'no c**p' snacks so she doesn't raid her husband Simon's chocolate cupboard.

Sara decided to sign up to a plan called Strong and Nourished and switched lots of her daily habits.

The blonde beauty told Closer magazine: 'I can't get on board with restrictive diets and I fall off the bandwagon.

'They did nutrition plans and I had strength training coaching once a week. I feel great. I've totally changed how I think about food and how I balance what I put into my body.'

In the interview she told how she used to make a smoothie every morning for breakfast but then realised it was around 500 calories each morning due to all the peanut butter in it.

Sara then switched to having porridge with chia seeds for fibre and nuts for 'healthy fats'.

She also adds collagen and sea moss to the porridge and says the protein-filled start to her day keeps her sugar cravings controlled and helps her feel fuller for longer.

For an afternoon snack she with have Greek yogurt with honey in or healthy cookies made with bananas, nuts and pumpkin seeds in.
