Dragon Ball Daima Has A Prime Opportunity To Connect To Super's Next Big Frieza Saga Through A Powerful Forgotten Artifact

6 days ago 7

Although most fans can't get enough of Dragon Ball Daima, at least a few are likely still scratching their heads over why this series debuted when the Dragon Ball Super anime is still on hiatus and hasn't even caught up with the manga. However, there's a promising scene in Dragon Ball Super's manga that has the potential of bridging the two series together in what would be an effective use of foreshadowing for the franchise if it comes to pass.

In fact, the scene in question also serves as a more compelling theory that explains why Frieza Black let Goku and Vegeta live near the end of Granolah the Survivor Saga in the manga. While Daima canonically takes place long before Super, there is still a chance that the two series could connect at some point, with the first serving as foreshadowing of the latter. After all, despite a messy timeline, fans can't have enough of the Dragon Ball franchise.

The Cube Spaceship From Dragon Ball Super Can Connect With Dragon Ball Daima

A Visit to the Demon Realm May Be Coming In Dragon Ball Super

In Dragon Ball Super chapter #12, Universe 6's God of Destruction Champa reveals that he disapproved of the fact that his Angel Vados had promised to the warrior Hit the Cube Spaceship in return for joining the tournament against Goku's Universe 7, because Hit could use it to travel anywhere, including any of the 12 universes. An original fan theory suggests that Frieza could, in an upcoming saga of Dragon Ball Super, steal the Cube Spaceship to travel to Universe 6 for his own nefarious means, perhaps to get his revenge on the Saiyan race that still prospers there.

However, the fact that the Cube Spaceship is described as possessing the capability of traveling anywhere means that it could technically go to the Demon World. As the third episode of Daima proves, there are so many obstacles that people must overcome to get there that if someone wanted to bypass these barriers, they would need some additional help. So, a villain like Frieza could use the Cube Spaceship to travel to the Demon World in the next Dragon Ball Super saga, which would then connect to the world and characters established in Daima.

Although episode #3 of Daima alluded to the fact that there are other ways to reach the Demon World, the one method that fans are aware of at this point requires finding a creature called Warp-sama and then presenting him with a four-digit PIN that has to have already been granted to them by a third party from the Demon World. The Cube Spaceship could likely bypass all these limitations.

Foreshadowing in fiction, especially in anime, is widely regarded as an effective form of storytelling, and this newest theory introduces two instances of it. While Toriyama was not known for planning his stories far ahead, it's not impossible that he wanted to pick up this small detail revealed in Dragon Ball Super chapter #12 in the future, and maybe connect it with the world explored in Daima. However, after Toriyama's passing, it will be up to whoever picks up the duty of writing Dragon Ball Super (hopefully Toyotaro) to make use of this plot thread.

Naturally, the next arc of the Dragon Ball Super manga will have to introduce a reason why someone would even need the Cube Spaceship to get to the Demon World. But at least there's a way for them to reach there using a mode of transportation that has already been established. Dragon Ball Daima has been an exciting gift for fans of the franchise, but many are still eagerly waiting for the Dragon Ball Super manga to come back from hiatus and for news about the anime. It would be great if the two series could connect in some way in the future.
