Dove Cameron broke her silence just weeks after announcing her engagement to Italian singer Damiano David.
The 30-year-old actress - who first sparked engagement speculation last fall - gave insight into the romantic and intimate proposal during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday.
While the Måneskin band member popped the big question in October of last year, the lovebirds chose to confirm they were engaged on social media after ringing in 2026.
As she told the story, Cameron flashed a diamond sparkler on her ring finger - with the former Disney channel actress revealing that David designed the piece of jewelry himself.
'He did such a beautiful job. He helped design it so I feel like, especially touched and it's so perfect,' she gushed.
Fallon questioned if the star had any idea that the music artist had plans to propose, and Cameron confirmed that she did.

'He was like, "I'm designing the ring." And then he was like, "The ring is done." So, I knew,' the actress said with the laugh.
The talk show host jokingly added, 'So, any day now this could happen. You let me know when you're ready bud!'
However, the songstress expressed that she didn't know when exactly the special moment would occur.
'So, every step of the way I didn't know how close we were or how far we were, right? But I just knew that this was coming.'
Cameron's close pals advised the actress to always have her nails done and wear white daily just in case.
But when David finally proposed, the star was far from prepared.
'It was a day that I like never could have projected. We were packing and I'm the worst version of myself when I'm packing,' she explained to Fallon and the live audience.
Cameron recalled being in an oversized shirt with 'no makeup' and her hair 'still kind of wet from the shower.'

At one point when she was 'running around like a little creature inside our house,' David crossed his arms while watching her and held a loving smile on his face.
Cameron knew right away that he was planning to pop the question but said, 'I was so prepared until literally right now.
'And so, I ran into the other room like panicking. Should I do my nails? Like, what do I do? I gotta be ready.'
David was waiting in the living room and she eventually went out to meet him after her 'brain broke in half.'
The Italian singer 'had something in his hand and he said, "I know that some girls want rose petals. I know you were maybe expecting something big.
'"But our life is so big and it's so - and it's full of so many public highs that there's no romance in that for us anymore. And so I wanted to do this here in our home because I want dishes, I want laundry, I want baking foods together.
'"I want you in your big T-shirt. And this is the life that I choose and I hope you choose the same. Will you marry me?"'
Fallon yelled, 'Come on!' after Cameron ended the proposal story as the crowd cheered and applauded.

Engagement speculation sparked up that month when Cameron rocked a diamond sparkler on her ring finger during a trip to Sydney with David.
'So, we announced it really late because we wanted to do it after everything quieted down,' the actress further explained.
A few weeks earlier in January, Cameron jumped to her main Instagram page to announce the news while giving her followers a closer glimpse at the ring.
The couple cozied up together in a series of sweet snaps as she held up her hand towards the camera.

Cameron and David were first romantically linked in September 2023 and the pair made their red carpet debut as a couple the following year.
The two stars went on to attend other public events together such as the 2024 Met Gala and a Los Angeles Lakers game.
During a previous interview with Cosmopolitan, the actress opened up about her relationship with the Italian singer.

In November 2025, she flashed unusual diamond rings on her wedding finger at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards. But her actual engagement ring was officially unveiled a few months later on Instagram.
Along with the engagement milestone, the star has been promoting her latest Amazon thriller series 56 Days.
The eight-episode project is set to premiere next month on February 18 and also stars Avan Jogia as well as Megan Peta Hill.
