Dog the Bounty Hunter joins search for missing Tennessee teen Sebastian Rogers: 'The hunt is ON - let's go!'

Duane 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' Chapman said he is getting involved in the ongoing search for Sebastian Rogers, a Tennessee teenager who's been missing for more than six months.

The Denver-born TV personality, 71, told the Nashville ABC affiliate WKRN Wednesday that he and his associates will conduct a probe independent of police, re-examine details already gathered and chase down new leads.

'This is one of the most horrendous cases of missing children that we've ever, ever worked on,' Chapman told the station of the vanishing of Rogers, a 15-year-old native of Hendersonville.

Chapman said on his Twitter page Wednesday, '#DogNation, let's do our part to bring Sebastian home and lock those responsible up for the rest of time. The hunt is ON—let's go! Aloha.'

Chapman said that he's assisting Sebastian's biological father Seth Rogers in the ongoing probe and has financially contributed to raise the reward for critical info in the case from $50,000 (announced by the FBI last week) to $100,000.

Sebastian, whose parents say he has autism, had been reported missing this past February 26

Multiple law enforcement agencies have conducted searches for Sebastian, and have currently pulled back their probe to the 'investigative side' of the case, according to the station.

Authorities have not confirmed any foul play in Sebastian's disappearance, WKRN reported.

Chapman told the station, 'This isn't my first rodeo in finding missing children or finding who's done it ... the bottom line is if you hurt a child like this, you've got a problem, so that is the main motivation for me to be hunting who did this.'

Chapman vowed he and his team were 'going to find out' the facts of the situation, adding, 'You can run, but you can't hide who did it.'

Chapman provided a phone number for a tip line at 833-835-5364, clarifying to the station that he's 'not law enforcement' and isn't going to probe informants for personal details.

'I don't have to ask you for your Social Security, write down your name, and bring you to court and all that,' Chapman told the outlet. 'That's why a lot of times I get information more than law enforcement does, so I will, of course, pass it on to law enforcement because they will probably do the apprehension.'

Sebastian, whose mother and stepfather say he has autism, had been reported missing this past February 26, the NBC affiliate WSMV reported Friday, adding that his mother and stepfather said he vanished from their Hendersonville, Tennessee during the middle of the night.

Sebastian's mother and stepfather Chris and Katie Proudfoot told WSMV that they were 'thankful' after the FBI pledged an initial $50,000 in reward money for details.

'We pray that with this reward, it will bring some useful tips and/or leads that result in the safe return of Sebastian to his home in Hendersonville,' Chris and Katie Proudfoot told the station. 'We would also like to say thank you to Sumner County Sheriff's Office, TBI, and the supportive public for the continuous efforts being made to bring Sebastian home safe and sound.

'Your tireless efforts are acknowledged and greatly appreciated.'

Sebastian has been physically described as 5-foot-5 with a weight of 120 pounds, and has brown or hazel eyes with hair described as blonde-brown in color.
