Doctor Strange Suggests A Much Smarter Plan For Scarlet Witch In New Multiverse Of Madness Video

4 hours ago 4

A new fan-made video presents a much smarter solution to the Scarlet Witch's problems in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange also acted as a sequel to 2021's WandaVision, as Elizabeth Olsen's Darkhold-corrupted Scarlet Witch hoped to travel across the multiverse to reunite with her sons after their demise in the MCU Phase 4 series. Wanda Maximoff planned to steal the universe-hopping power from Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez, which brought her into conflict with Doctor Strange himself.

The Scarlet Witch's plan in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was pretty convoluted, and ultimately didn't work the way she wanted. A new fan-made video shared by The Warp Zone described this plan as "super evil " and "super dumb," and suggests a far more suitable way for Wanda Maximoff to achieve her mission. The video notes that the Scarlet Witch could have mentored America Chavez rather than murdering her, helping America develop her powers and giving Wanda parenting skills, and could have found a universe where her variant isn't around, leaving her kids without a mother.

What The Scarlet Witch’s Doctor Strange 2 Plan Meant For The MCU

The Scarlet Witch Caused Destruction In Phase 4

While The Warp Zone's suggestion for the Scarlet Witch's plan in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might have made more sense, Wanda Maximoff was hardly in full control in the Phase 4 movie. Her grief drove her to acquire the Darkhold in WandaVision, which corrupted her massively, meaning she wasn't seeing straight in Multiverse of Madness. It was perhaps important that this story went the way it did, anyway, as it culminated in the Scarlet Witch's absence from the MCU, and the destruction of the Book of the Damned.

I Agree With Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch Criticisms & Think There's A Perfect Way For The MCU To Fix It

Elizabeth Olsen has made her issues with how the MCU handled the Scarlet Witch clear, and I agree with her & I think they could be fixed in a project.

The Scarlet Witch's death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness lead to the events of Agatha All Along, with the reincarnation of Billy Maximoff tracking down Agatha Harkness, breaking her free of the Scarlet Witch's spell and embarking on a journey down the fabricated Witches' Road. Now that both Billy and Tommy Maximoff have been reincarnated, it would be great to see the Scarlet Witch return to the MCU. Multiverse of Madness' Scarlet Witch story subsequently provided important Young Avengers set-up, and had a huge impact on the world of magic and witches in the MCU.

The Scarlet Witch has recently been teased to be returning to the MCU, with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige himself suggesting that "we are excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch can return" (via Omelete). There was previously speculation that Wanda Maximoff would return in Agatha All Along, with Billy Maximoff suspected to use the Witches' Road to wish for his mother's return, but this did not come to pass. Billy and Tommy Maximoff's reincarnation in the MCU sets up the Scarlet Witch's return, however, which is an exciting prospect for the MCU.

We had Agatha All Along on Disney+ just now, and that series was great for us. Since then, many questions have remained in fans' minds about Wanda... So, all I can say is we are excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch can return.

Wanda Maximoff has been through one of the most transformative and tumultuous journeys since her MCU debut in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. She has gone from being a heroic Avenger to a corrupted villain, and now deserves redemption in the MCU's future, so it's important that she returns to put her incredible powers to good use once again. Elizabeth Olsen has been speculated to be reprising her Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness role in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, which means we might get more Scarlet Witch action very soon.
