DJ Clark Kent who worked with Jay-Z and Mariah Carey is dead at 57 after colon cancer battle

DJ Clark Kent is dead at age 57. 

The musician battled colon cancer for three years, TMZ reported on Friday.

His family confirmed on Instagram that the music producer died on Thursday with loved ones beside him. 

His wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah and son Antonio, AKA Mage, were all with him when he passed.

The New York City native - born Rodolfo A. Franklin - was an influential force in the Hip Hop community who worked with some of the biggest names in music.

A documentary about his life called God's Favorite D.J.: The Story of DJ Clark Kent is in the works with comments from Jay-Z, Questlove and DJ Khaled.

His credits include Jay-Z's Brooklyn's Finest and Mariah Carey's Loverboy

'It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of the beloved Rodolfo A. Franklin, known to the world as DJ Clark Kent,' the Instagram note read.

'Clark passed away Thursday evening surrounded by his devoted wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah and son Antonio,' it was added.

'Clark quietly and valiantly fought a three year battle with Colon Cancer, while continuing to share his gifts with the world. 

'The family is grateful for everyone's love, support and prayers during this time and ask for privacy as they process this immense loss.'

In August it was announced a new movie is being made about his life.

Hip-hop radio personality Angie Martinez will be making her directorial debut with the Kent documentary.

He also worked with Kanye West and Lil Pump on I Love It; seen in March in LA

Jay-Z, Questlove and DJ Khaled will appear in Martinez's feature-length documentary God's Favorite D.J.: The Story of DJ Clark Kent

Angie will cover the last 40 years of his life and how he rose to fame.
