One Spider-Man show on Disney+ is so good that it was renewed for two more seasons even before it premiered. While Prime Video's Spider-Noir may be drawing the most attention as a Spider-Man series recently, Disney+ also has its own serialized story about Peter Parker. While it's not the same version of Peter as Tom Holland will soon be playing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it is still a great Spider-Man story.

That series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, is also one of the best shows on Disney+ in general. The animated series focuses on an alternate universe separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe where Dr. Strange brings the spider that eventually bites Peter Parker and gives him his powers. It then follows mostly the same origin story Spider-Man typically has, with some very notable surprises in store to keep things interesting.

One of the most remarkable things about Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is that it was already renewed for a second and third season. Season 2 is already well underway and expected to premiere in late 2026. Marvel and Disney had such faith in the show that they actually renewed Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man for more seasons even before the first season premiered in January 2025. That decision was made for a simple reason: the show is really good.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Seasons 2 & 3 Are Well-Deserved

Marvel and Disney likely didn't have a hard time deciding to renew Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man for more seasons because there's so much to love about the series. It has gorgeous animation with colors and shading that make the entire series feel like it leaped right off the page of a comic book. Spider-Man's origin story is also as timeless as ever, meaning Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has a great story to fall back on.

The changes the show makes to Spider-Man's classic origin story also elevate the show even further. Everything about it works. The personal drama in Peter's life is emotionally charged and relatable, especially for younger audiences. The fights Spider-Man gets into are electric, well-choreographed, and exciting. It's everything you could want out of a Spider-Man story with some great twists for longtime fans of the superhero.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man more than earned being renewed for two more seasons. The show's Rotten Tomatoes score, which sits at an impressive 97%, is proof enough of that. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has great reviews, viewers love it, and it has a lot of heart and emotion. Anyone who likes Peter Parker should be excited that Marvel and Disney smartly decided to continue it.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Is Perfect For Comic Fans

One of the best features of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is that it offers a different take on Spider-Man and his story from the main Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland's portrayal of Peter Parker has been great so far and very unique among the other Spider-Man movies. In making Spider-Man fit into the wider MCU, however, the character has gotten changed quite a bit, and fans of the comics may have been left wanting.

For example, Tom Holland's Spider-Man didn't actually get an origin story. By the time he first appeared in the MCU in Captain America: Civil War, Peter already had his powers, his web-shooters, and he even got an upgraded suit from Tony Stark. Ned, as well, doesn't come from the comics, and the MCU's Peter has only interacted with iconic Spider-Man villains like Green Goblin and Doc Ock from other universes.

Spider-Man's Hit TV Show Is So Good, It's Already Renewed For 2 More Seasons

Spider-Man's TV show is a massive streaming hit, and it is so good that Peter Parker and other heroes will already return for two more seasons.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, on the other hand, offers a much more comic-accurate story than the main MCU does. The animated series starts with Spider-Man's origin, albeit a heavily changed one, preserves Peter's friendship with Harry, his interactions with Norman Osborne, and more. It has its fair share of changes, from Doctor Strange's influence on Peter to Nico Minoru, a more recent development in the comics, but Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is more comic accurate than the live-action movies.

Most importantly, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was the first MCU Spider-Man project to actually make Peter a street-level hero. Unlike Tom Holland's movies, Peter doesn't often get help from Avengers, he isn't saving the entire world, and he's not fighting universe-destroying villains. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is currently the MCU's best display of Peter being a kid and Spider-Man being, as the title suggests, friendly and in the neighborhood.
