Cassian Andor and Mon Mothma Custom image by Yailin Chacon

Amongst the new images released from Andor season 2 is one that gives Disney's now-defunct Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser immersive resort an incredibly exciting, and powerful, legacy. Andor season 2, releasing in April 2025, will continue the story of its titular character, Cassian Andor, as he partakes in the Rebel Alliance's fight against the Galactic Empire, leading straight into the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In addition to Cassian are other significant characters, including the likes of Luthen Rael, Saw Gerrera, and Mon Mothma.

Mon Mothma especially has quite a role in this story, and her connection to her homeworld of Chandrila actually ties her close to Disney's Galactic Starcruiser itself. The story of this immersive resort reveals that the titular starcruiser, the Halcyon, is owned by Chandrila Star Line, which is, of course, based on Mon Mothma's homeworld of the same name. Mon Mothma is even familiar enough with Chandrila Star Line and the Halcyon to send Han Solo and Leia Organa on their honeymoon there shortly after the Battle of Endor. Now, Andor season 2 is increasing the connection between the two.

Mon Mothma's Office Is Inspired By The Galactic Starcruiser's Interior Design

The White & Gold Are Trademarks Of Chandrila

One new image from Andor season 2 shows Mon Mothma looking over something on her datapad inside her office, which is deeply influenced by the interior design of the Halcyon itself. The white accented with gold could be seen all over the inside of the Galactic Starcruiser, particularly within places such as its merchandise store, the Chandrila Collection, and the dining room, the Crown of Corellia. This aesthetic was established for the Halcyon prior to the release of Andor season 1, proving its direct influence on Andor season 2 - and not vice versa.

Star Wars' Republic Senator and Rebel Chancellor Mon Mothma has become a vital part of Disney canon. Here's all you need to know about her!

This actually isn't even the first time Mon Mothma's story in Andor has been influenced by the Galactic Starcruiser. In Andor season 1, during one of the evening parties hosted at Mon Mothma's home on Coruscant, there was a certain type of glass used to serve drinks that was also used by the "chemist" bartenders on the Halcyon. This glass could even be bought in the merchandise stores and more on the Starcruiser prior to this episode airing. Now, even after the Starcruiser's closure, it still continues to influence Star Wars TV shows like Andor.

The Starcruiser Has Forever Impacted Chandrila's Looks & Traditions

As The First, It Will Always Be The Most Influential

 Galactic Starcruiser

It's clear now that the Galactic Starcruiser, despite closing, will always have this legacy of impacting the way Chandrilan things look. This is because there wasn't much known about Chandrila and the way it looked in Star Wars canon until the Galactic Starcruiser opened, and although it may not be open anymore, it was significant enough that things still have to remain constant between the Halcyon and other Chandrilan-related things. This means that, in Andor and other Star Wars properties, white and gold will always be the colors of Chandrilan interior design.

Andor season 2 premieres on April 22, 2025, on Disney+.

Diego Luna stars as Cassian Andor in Andor, a Disney+ exclusive series set five years before Rogue One. The series follows the titular character as he transitions from a humble thief to a revolutionary icon of the rebellion against the empire. Cassian, a man who tries to keep himself out of confrontations post the destruction of his world, is shoved into the central conflict as he naturally slots into the role of leader. Andor will explore the rebellion's burgeoning days and highlight pivotal events in the Star Wars Franchise before the construction of the Death Star.
