He is also an experienced baseball writer with over six years of articles between multiple outlets, most notably FanSided's CubbiesCrib. When it comes to gaming and anything that takes inspiration from it, he is deeply opinionated on what's going on. Those principles he learned covering the 2020 election, Palestine, and so much more are brought here to Collider, where he has gleefully written on everything from the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes to Nathan Lane baby-birding sewer boys.

When it comes to iconic fantasy book adaptations, all eyes are on HBO's Harry Potter series to see how the wizarding world is brought to life with the expanded runtime the small screen provides. Although the ambitious undertaking won't premiere until 2027, production is moving along at a brisk pace, with the cast around young stars Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout rapidly filling out and famed locations in and around Hogwarts taking shape. While the wait continues there, though, Disney+ has its own hit young adult fantasy series that's gearing up for a return following an acclaimed sophomore outing. Better yet, it's just hit an important milestone in its own production.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians has officially wrapped production on Season 3, as confirmed by an announcement on the official Percy Jackson X account. It marks the end of a long odyssey for the cast and crew that began all the way back in August and once again serves to reassure that Walker Scobell will be back for his next adventure sooner than expected, with a release later this year. An exact date hasn't been set, but the wait won't be much longer for the third book from Rick Riordan's beloved series of novels to come to life. It's a welcome change of pace from an often glacial streaming landscape, especially after an action-packed finale featuring not only a battle with Luke (Charlie Bushnell) and his forces, but a huge twist from The Sea of Monsters that could affect Thalia's (Tamara Smart) role going forward.

Based on The Titan's Curse, Season 3 will send Percy on another rescue mission, this time to save Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and rescue Artemis (Dafne Keen). Riordan himself has been quite eager to get into the third book because of how much the cast and their respective characters have developed through the first two seasons and how great their latest test will be. The changes from the previous book could also lead to some surprises down the line in how the story is ultimately retold. Scobell, for his part, teased in an interview with Collider's Meredith Loftus that it all weighs especially heavily on Percy, as he experiences what Annabeth's absence truly means for the group.

"It's interesting because without Annabeth there, I find Percy a lot more... this is a little bit of a spoiler for the book, The Titan's Curse. He's really on a mission for Annabeth, but at the same time, he can feel her absence in this group. I think it's interesting because there's been a lot of scenes where it's pretty funny because Percy's really trying to make this work without Annabeth. He's not a big fan of what's going on either, but he's really trying to cooperate with what's going on. It's been pretty funny, too. He's almost trying to fill Annabeth's role himself, and he's just not that good at it."

Who Are the New Additions to the Pantheon in 'Percy Jackson' Season 3?

The adaptation of another book means new additions to the cast are in order for Season 3. Among the most recent to join the show were guest stars Ming-Na Wen, Jennifer Beals, and Hubert Smielecki, who have been tapped to play Hera, Demeter, and Apollo, respectively. Logan and Deadpool & Wolverine star Keene also marked a big new addition, given how central Artemis is to the story of The Titan's Curse. Saara Chaudry was also brought aboard to play Zoë Nightshade. As always, though, Scobell, Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadr will remain central to the show as they prepare to face their greatest challenge yet in the form of the titan Atlas, played by The Iron Claw star Holt McCallany.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians Season 3 premieres later this year. Stay tuned here at Collider for more now that production has officially wrapped.
