Disney Lorcana is headed out of the wilds and into the city, and along for the ride are characters from Coco, Big Hero 6, and The Sword and the Stone. Characters from Tail Spin, Goof Troop, and Gargoyles also get some love. The end result is Hyperia City, a big and bright Disney Lorcana expansion that has a little something for everyone.
The prerelease for Hyperia City will take place on October 16, 2026, at local hobby stores and Disney Parks locations. A week later, it will launch everywhere on October 23. The product lineup includes the usual Prerelease Box at those events, booster packs, and the Illumineer's Trove. Usually, the Illumineer's Trove is highly sought after, and that will likely be the case once again when Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City releases in a couple of weeks.
What's Inside Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City Illumineer's Trove
Ahead of the prerelease for Hyperia City, I sample some of the products, including the Illimineer's Trove. First up, the Illumineer's Trove for Hyperia City includes all the following items:
- 1 Lore counter
- 1 storage box
- 6 card dividers
- 6 damage-counter dice
- 8 booster packs
The booster packs each contain 12 randomized cards inside, so you're looking at a total of 96 cards from the Illumineer's Trove. I had decent luck with my packs, only getting a few repeats of some Common Amber and Ruby cards. Considering how big the collection is, there's a lot of variety here.
The card dividers feature artwork from various cards in the Hyperia City set, including Max from Goof Troop, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Miguel from Coco, Merlin, and Marie from The Aristocats. The storage box includes characters and artwork of Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Goofy, Cinderella, and Shere Khan (but the version from Tail Spin, not The Jungle Book).
Coco Shines In Hyperia City
The focal point for Hyperia City is Pixar's Coco, so expect to see a lot of cards from that movie. There are new song cards like "Though I Have to Say Goodbye," as well as every rarity. Miguel, Dante, and many other familiar faces from Coco get a chance to shine. Of course, Disney icons (and Disney Lorcana mainstays) like Belle and Goofy get new cards in this set as well.
There are also a large portion of cards from The Sword and the Stone, Gargoyles, and Big Hero 6. For anyone who grew up with The Disney Afternoon or those shows when they aired, there are some nice surprises here too, including Shere Khan decked out in his full Khan Industries CEO attire. My favorite might just be "Goofy - Dancing Superstar," which has him dressed like Powerline from A Goofy Movie.
I didn't get any Enchanteds in my pulls this time, but I managed to snag a Legendary Powerline card, which seems pretty cool, as well as the Super Rare "Dante - Loyal Abrije," which I think will be quite useful in my current deck that utilizes Amethyst cards. I did get an Epic rarity card of Meilin Lee from Turning Red, which I don't think I'll use in a deck but was still fun to pull from a booster pack.
How Hyperia City Compares To Previous Illumineer's Troves
The Illumineer's Trove for Hyperia City really isn't all that different from previous Illumineer's Troves, especially if you've bought recent ones like Attack of the Vine! or Wilds Unknown. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. Disney Lorcana has found a formula that works, and if you're looking to get into the card game, then an Illumineer's Trove can be an excellent way to start your collection, especially with the extra items it includes.
And even if you've been with Disney Lorcana since the very beginning, the Illumineer's Trove for Hyperia City is pretty great for storage, and the card dividers certainly help. While I wish we'd get the booklet again, or maybe some card sleeves, everything included here is premium quality. At the very least, the 8 booster packs included with the box are an excellent way to kickstart your Hyperia City collection. The new set launches in full on Friday, October 23, 2026.
