Michael C. Hall and James Remar are officially back in action for Dexter: Resurrection season 2.
As season 2 filming kicks into full gear in New York City, returning original series and Dexter: Resurrection cast members Michael C. Hall and James Remar took to social media to tease Dexter Morgan and Harry Morgan's new scenes in the hit crime show. On set, the duo discussed some exciting new and returning guest stars appearing in season 2, while warning viewers to "follow the Code." Check out the video below:
Remar, who plays Dexter's deceased adoptive father whom the titular killer often speaks with as his moral guide, is seen back in Harry's familiar button-up blue shirt for his season 2 costume. Meanwhile, Hall's Dexter appears on set in a black henley-style long-sleeve shirt, which may very well be the outfit he's wearing while on the hunt for his victims in coming episodes.
Hall takes the lead on the video from set, revealing that the team has "another thrill ride planned," keeping up the momentum after the twist-filled suspense in Dexter: Resurrection season 1's ending. The pair concludes the video by telling viewers to "stay tuned," suggesting more reveals from the cast on set and announcements about the highly anticipated installment will soon follow.
Though Hall doesn't go into specifics about the new and returning guest stars for Dexter: Resurrection season 2, Paramount has already confirmed several cast members for the next outing. In addition to the return of Uma Thurman's season 1 character Charley Brown, the former right hand of the villainous Leon Prater who knows Dexter's killer identity as the Bay Harbor Butcher, Paramount has revealed that Brian Cox will portray the next "big bad," The New York Ripper, while Dan Stevens is joining the ensemble as The Five Borough Killer.

Meanwhile, season 2 will also see the return of Kadia Saraf as Detective Wallace and Dominic Fumusa as Detective Oliva.
Michael C. Hall is now on his 12th season overall portraying the iconic Dexter Morgan, having played the role across the original show's eight seasons, Dexter: New Blood's one-season limited revival, as the voice-over narrator on Dexter: Original Sin's single season, and now the first two seasons of Dexter: Resurrection. The sequel series also marks Remar's long-awaited return as Harry after being absent from New Blood and having the character be portrayed by Christian Slater on Original Sin.
With undisclosed "new and returning" guest stars confirmed for season 2, it remains to be seen which familiar faces will be joining Hall and Remar for more intense "thrills" in Showtime's hit crime series. Filming has only just completed its first week in New York City, so production is far from over as more surprise cast members finally make their way to set.
While Paramount has yet to officially confirm the release date for Dexter: Resurrection season 2 on Paramount+, showrunner Clyde Phillips previously indicated an October 2026 premiere window. Currently, the series has also yet to be renewed for season 3.
