DeVon Franklin Marries Maria Castillo in Star-Studded Wedding
DeVon Franklin can always count on his special person to support him.
Ahead of the NAACP Image Awards on Feb. 28, the film producer—who earned six nominations for his 2025 film Ruth & Boaz—and his wife Maria Castillo stepped out for a date night at the pre-show’s Creative Honors in Los Angeles.
During the Feb. 26 event, the couple wore all-black looks on the carpet. Devon, 47, kept it simple in a suit while Maria, 29, sported a high neck dress, gold jewelry and red-bottom pumps. After posing for a few photos together, Devon—who was previously married to Meagan Good—also reunited with Ruth & Boaz actor Serayah inside the venue.
Indeed, this event was a huge moment for the cast to celebrate their accolades. In January, the NAACP announced the film received an Outstanding Limited Movie nod. Meanwhile, Serayah (who starred as Ruth) was recognized in the Outstanding Actress category and Tyler Lepley’s portrayal of Boaz landed him in Outstanding Actor.
“Thank you to @naacp for once again recognizing our stories,” Devon wrote of the accomplishments on Instagram that month, “and thank you for watching and supporting!!”
And when the Flamin’ Hot actor isn’t praising his own work, he’s documenting all the milestones he and his wife have hit since they tied the knot last August.
“Our first Thanksgiving as newlyweds… and my heart (and my stomach :) is full,” he captioned his Instagram post in November, sharing a photo of him and Maria smiling. “God doesn’t just answer prayers—He exceeds them. Grateful for my wife, our life, and this new chapter He’s written for us.”

True to his words, Devon wanted this new chapter of bliss to be the focal point of their wedding.
“We wanted to create an event that evokes the beginning of our love story,” he told People in August, shortly after they celebrated their nuptials in California. “So often people look at a wedding as the end of a love story, but it’s just the beginning. We wanted this event to capture that, so people can really experience our love for one another.”
