‘Den Of Thieves’ Actor John Lewis Launches Vertical Entertainment App muVpix

EXCLUSIVE: John Lewis is launching muVpix, a new U.S. made vertical entertainment app, with two original series, the animated drama Whispervale, and the live-action thriller Swipe Left.

muVpix will debut in March as the flagship platform of BlackForge Distribution, with original content produced through BlackForge Partners, both companies operating under Lewis’ long-running banner JLE Cinema Group.

Whispervale is billed as blending handcrafted stop-motion–inspired aesthetics with serialized mythic storytelling. Swipe Left follows a sharp, ambitious young professional escaping a toxic relationship with her tech-CEO ex – only to download a dating app called LOVEZAP, which promises perfect AI-driven matches. When every man she connects with begins dying in increasingly brutal “accidents,” the line between algorithmic perfection and predatory design begins to blur. The series is directed by Casey Jackson and stars Sarah Moliski, Tyler Scherer, and Felix Merback, with production beginning this week.

“muVpix isn’t chasing trends – it’s correcting the assumption that vertical storytelling has to be disposable,” said Lewis. “We’re launching with stories that are bold, authored, and cinematic. Whispervale is unlike anything that’s existed in this space, and Swipe Left proves that you can deliver real suspense, real performances, and real danger in a format designed for how people actually watch today.”

muVpix is the latest expansion of JLE Cinema Group, Lewis’ independent production company, currently producing four films per year. Among the company’s most recent projects is the upcoming thriller Cipher, now in post-production, starring Terrence Howard, Paula Patton, Joel David Moore, Britt Robertson, Christopher Lloyd, and Lewis himself. The film was written and directed by Tony Giglio and produced in collaboration with Drama Free Films.

Lewis is represented by Innovative Artists and Entertainment.
