When Demi Moore turned up at the Gucci FW/26 runway presentation during Milan Fashion Week in Italy last Friday with a hydro-bob haircut, fans were convinced she had chopped off her signature long raven mane.

The 63-year-old Oscar nominee 'trusted' the headline-making makeover to hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who transformed a wig into the 'Demi-tris Bob.'

The Greek-born 42-year-old's other celebrity clients include Amal Clooney, Cindy Crawford, Gigi Hadid, Ciara, Tate McRae, Kim Kardashian and her big sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker.

Hairstylist Chris McMillan - whose clients include Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker - commented on Giannetos' Instagram slideshow: 'Looked great. Soooo good. She should cut!'

Moore (born Guynes) addressed the viral moment while hosting a promotional 'Power Talks' event for Kérastase, which was held at Nya Studios in LA on Thursday.

'[It was an] incredible moment,' the Landman actress said onstage. 'Just being able to play and step into another facet of my personality.'

That same day, Moore - who boasts 15.7 million social media followers - declared on Instagram: 'The long hair is here to stay.'

The New Mexico-born grandmother showcased her enviable long locks while celebrating the launch of the French luxury haircare brand's new 'Chronologiste Overnight Youth Serum,' which costs $35 (30ml) or $65 (90ml).

'[Long hair] feels most like me,' Moore told People in January.

'Being able to change my look with wigs and pieces feeds my need for change but at the end of the day I love taking it down seeing my hair fall past my waist. It's like coming home.'

The Brat Packer was famously paid between $11 million and $12.5 million to star as Lieutenant Jordan O'Neil in Ridley Scott's 1997 Navy SEAL-inspired drama G.I. Jane, which required her to shave her head on camera.

'[That] probably was the most illuminating experience and one that deepened my appreciation for my hair!' Moore said.

The high school drop-out will next serve presenting duties at the 98th Academy Awards - airing March 15 on ABC/Hulu - alongside Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison, Zoe Saldaña, Javier Bardem, Chris Evans, Chase Infiniti, Kumail Nanjiani and Maya Rudolph.

Last December, Paramount+ renewed Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace's Texan oil drama Landman for a third season, so Moore will be back as M-Tex Oil owner Cami Miller.

The critically-acclaimed series is a small-screen adaptation of Christian Wallace's 2019 Boomtown podcast.

The Actor Award winner will next play a 'cutthroat fashion maven' in Boots Riley's sci-fi shoplifting comedy I Love Boosters - hitting US theaters May 22 - alongside LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, Keke Palmer and Eiza González.

Audiences will finally get to hear Moore as U-Z-Onesa in Roger Holzberg's 1997 animated film The Magic 7, which will be released as a web series this April after a successful Kickstarter campaign.

The Emmy-nominated producer will also soon team up with Colman Domingo to play interracial couple Betty and Barney Hill, who get abducted by aliens in Roger Ross Williams' 1961-set romance Strange Arrivals.
