Delkin has announced the Valor Pro CFexpress Type B memory card, a 1TB capacity high-speed option that is designed, assembled, and tested in the United States and is emblazoned with the American flag.

The company says that the card is designed, assembled, and extensively validated in Delkin’s Poway, California facility to “world-class workmanship standards.” The packaging and card itself are visibly proud of this, with the flag of the USA visible on both. Even the name “Valor” brings with it the concept of patriotism.

The cards are rated VPG800 (so they will never fall below a sustained 800 MB/s) and can reach speeds as high as 3,700 MB/s read and 2,800 MB/s write. Delkin also says that not only do they comply with VPG800, but they have 1,840 MB/s sustained write speed performance.

“Drawing on more than 40 years of US manufacturing of high-reliability industrial storage, every Valor PRO is built to IPC Class 3 workmanship standards and engineered for dependable performance when data loss is simply not an option,” Delkin says.

“Exceeding the IPC Class 2 workmanship standards commonly used for commercial electronics, Valor PRO is manufactured to IPC Class 3 requirements — the industry’s highest workmanship classification — providing an added level of quality and reliability for professional photographers, filmmakers, and content creators.”

IPC Class isn’t commonly touted among memory card manufacturers, but Delkin touting Class 3 does mean that it is making the Valor Pro to the highest international standard of electronics manufacturing. Class 1 is typically described as “cheap” with short life cycles — like what you would find in toys and cheap flashlights. Class 2 is the most common and describes “good” quality manufacturing with long expected life cycles, like what you would find in laptop computers and household appliances. Class 3 quality falls into the “failproof” category with extended life cycles. It’s more common to see this level of manufacturing standard for aerospace and medical applications.

Since it’s not common to hear IPC talked about in memory card manufacturing, it’s not clear how many other memory manufacturers are also making cards to the IPC Class 3 standard.

Delkin says that the Valor Pro works in all CFexpress Type B cameras, but specifically note support in Blackmagic Design, Canon, DJi, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and RED cameras.

Delkin backs the Valor Pro with a 48-Hour Replacement Guarantee (a replacement ships before the original is returned, shipping costs covered by Delkin, both ways), Limited Lifetime Warranty, free image and video recovery, and US/UK-based technical support.
