DC writer unveils new details about each member of the new Suicide Squad, introduced in Absolute Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's own supervillain team assembles in DC's Absolute Universe, where each of the Trinity's rogues galleries take an unprecedented form. While Batman's classic Gotham villains are transformed into monsters and Superman faces off against unexpected enemies like Ra's al Ghul and the Peacemakers, Wonder Woman meets a brand-new Suicide Squad.
The Suicide Squad has gone through numerous line-ups throughout the years and across continuities. Anti-heroes like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and Killer Croc; as well as villains like Black Manta and Deathstroke, have become memorable members of Task Force X since its inception. Sometimes, though, the Suicide Squad's line-up is so different it's almost unrecognizable.

Wonder Woman's New Villains Are Visibly Different In The Absolute Universe
On Substack, Absolute Wonder Woman writer Kelly Thompson reveals official character art for every member of the Absolute Suicide Squad. This post showcases Absolute Zatanna's outfit from different angles. It also reveals Aphrodite's marble-inspired look and Doctor Poison's more mobile but still bulky suit. Thompson confirms the Suicide Squad's fish person is Ara, Queen of the Fish-Men Wonder Woman fought in the underground Area 41 maze.
Giganta and Cheetah are perhaps the most easily recognizable characters in the Absolute Suicide Squad. However, Absolute Giganta wears what seems to be a tech-enhanced bodysuit, with connected wristbands and ankle bracelets. Cheetah displays a scattered pattern that suggests she is neither fully human nor fully animal.
Wonder Woman's Absolute Suicide Squad Raises Several Questions
Wonder Woman's Rogues Gallery Must Still Have Plenty Of Surprises In Store
It's clear that Veronica Cale is the mastermind behind the Absolute Universe's Suicide Squad in this timeline, and that her main goal is to destroy Diana. However, where each member of the squad comes from and how they ended up captured by Veronica Cale is still a mystery. Also, the inclusion of Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, poses the question of why a deity is commanded by a human being.
More importantly, the Suicide Squad's Cheetah isn't Barbara Minerva, who's a permanent fixture in Diana's team. While Barbara has hinted at her particular admiration for Wonder Woman and her casual interest in enhanced abilities, the Absolute Universe's Cheetah is confirmed to be a separate character. Whether Absolute Cheetah is Priscilla Rich, Deborah Domaine, or a different character altogether is yet to be seen.
