Batman's new appearance sees Batgirl show up alongside other DC characters, and the hero sports a design most fans should be happy with. Batgirl has had a rough go in live-action as of late. After all, Warner Bros. Discovery cancelled a completed Batgirl movie. Since then, the character has yet to be announced as a player in James Gunn's DC Universe.
That said, there is a good chance that Batgirl could show up in Batman's The Brave and the Bold DCU movie, as the upcoming film is going to feature Damian Wayne, which should mean a version of Batgirl is already active in the franchise. For those who do not want to wait that long for Batgirl in Batman projects, a 2026 release emerges as the perfect solution.
DC Has Revealed What Batwheels Season 3's Batgirl Looks Like
The first part of Batwheels season 3 was released on HBO Max on December 5, 2025. Recently, DC fans were treated to the continuation of the Batman animated series. Batwheels season 3B dropped on HBO Max on February 6. The series might be focused on the vehicles of the Bat-Family, but many beloved heroes from the comics appear in the show.
Some of them include Batman, Nightwing, Batgirl, and more. While Dick Grayson is Nightwing in the Batman animated series, his closest friend and famous love interest, Barbara Gordon, is not the Batgirl who appears in the returning DC series. Instead, fans can watch Cassandra Cain, who is normally handed the short end of the stick in adaptations, as Batgirl in Batwheels.
Batgirl's biggest episode thus far in Batwheels season 3 is episode 4, "Sizzie Strong," which was released on February 9. In it, Batgirl and her motorcycle, Bibi, go up against Harley Quinn and her ATV, Jestah, at a concert. Cassandra Cain dons a mostly light purple Batgirl suit with yellow details, such as boots, gloves, a cape, and more. Without her biker helmet, she has slicked black hair with a Bat-themed tiara.
How Batwheels Season 3's Batgirl Compares To Other Versions Of The DC Hero?
While Cassandra Cain is Batgirl in the animated Batman series, there is no denying that Batwheels is taking cues from Barbara Gordon's DC Comics history for her design. After all, the animated series' suit is a close match for Batgirl's famous "Burnside" costume. That suit almost made its way into live-action, as Leslie Grace's Barbara Gordon wore it in the cancelled Batgirl movie.
The main differences between the two are the tone of yellow, which is a tint closer to orange in DC Comics when compared to the show, and how Batwheels' Batgirl suit has a big black portion around the knees, whereas the comic book design uses black stripes on the sides of Barbara Gordon's legs. All in all, the Batman series' Batgirl design is both faithful to the original and feels fresh.
