The husband and wife duo, along with their daughters Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, reported live on the spooky season scene as they dressed up like the news station characters of the 2004 comedy Anchorman—with an assist from friend Anna Kendrick.
In photos shared to Instagram Nov. 1, Dax sported a blush pink suit and tan cowboy hat as he channeled David Koechner’s character Champ Kind, even winking at the camera. Kristen appeared as Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy in a retro red suit, matching tie, short brunette wig and brown press-on mustache for the spooky holiday.
Next to the Frozen actress and Armchair Expert host were two children with their faces covered by pumpkin emojis, presumably their daughters rocking throwback ‘fits for All Hallows’ Eve. Their oldest daughter Lincoln sported an orange leather jacket, orange-and-white button-down shirt and tan plaid pants, channeling Paul Rudd’s stylish and smooth-talking character Brian Fantana.
Her little sister Delta dressed as Steve Carell’s wacky and weird character Brick Tamland, rocking an all-blue suit set with a brown-and-blue tie. The sister duo seemingly covered their natural blonde hair and donned short brunette wigs, just like mom.
For her part, Anna completed the group costume by wearing tan slacks, matching vest over a pink shirt, long blonde wig and held a microphone to capture the essence of Christina Applegate’s on-air reporter Veronica Corningstone.

“Ladies and Gentlemen the Channel 4 news Team!” Kristen captioned the post, which also had videos of a hayride built and operated by Dax. “And thank you to everybody’s favorite neighborhood gear head for the most epic hayride!!! (@daxshepard).”
While the Halloween festivities were all fun and games for the Shepard-Bell crew, Kristen has been vocal about her decision to keep her children out of the public eye, including covering children’s faces in photos. Passionate about protecting their identities, the couple even spearheaded the “No Kids Policy,” a campaign aimed at keeping celebrities’ kids’ pictures out of the national spotlight.

"My feeling is that I chose a career in the public eye," Kristen told Romper in 2020. "I chose to be quoted, I chose to have my picture taken. I don't know them yet. I don't know if they will want that. So I really don't have the right to choose for them."
