Davina McCall's hairdresser partner Michael Douglas gave the star a haircut during an Instagram Livestream on Saturday evening.

The TV presenter, 57, told fans it was her first hair cut in just over a month and the first since she was forced to have surgery after doctors discovered a benign tumour on her brain that affects just three in a million people.

But the star seemed to be recovering well and was more than happy to join her partner of five years to film a video.

Davina and her boyfriend, 50, have been together since 2019 but during the video the star explained that they had first met 20 years earlier when Michael had cut Davina's hair.

In the clip, the stylist explained how he was going to cut the star's hair and talked fans though the process, showing off his techniques and giving tips to watching fans.

He also revealed that Davina had wanted some pampering before the couple hosted some friends for the evening.

Davina showed off her scars to the camera but reassured fans she was healing well

The TV presenter, 57, told fans it was her first hair cut in just over a month and the first since she was forced to have surgery after doctors discovered a benign tumour on her brain that affects just three in a million people

At one point he showed off Davina's hair and scar following the surgery and the pair discussed how she had lost a lot of hair after having children.

Michael said: 'People think you've got really thick hair but it's actually quite thin'.

Davina then turned around shocked and yells 'What!?'

As the pair discussed her hair, Michael explained that she has thick hair but not much of it and Davina sadly admits she 'used to have lots of hair but I had babies'.

Later in the video Davina mourned the state of her hair since surgery and told the camera 'we lost a big chunk here' as she pointed to her scar.

She added: 'It's all healed, it's a bit crusty' as she pointed to the large scar.

At another point in the video, Michael pulled Davina's hair down to cut some layers in at the front and the TV star could be heard drawing in her breath and wincing and he apologised to her for being too rough.

As the presenter promised it was fine, the hairdresser cheekily said to the camera: 'I was a bit rough there - she normally likes it rough' before Davina responds 'Michael Douglas you Share naughty'.

As the couple discussed their health, Michael admitted that he has been stressed recently and his alopecia has got worse as he showed off his bald patches to the camera.

Throughout it all, the couple seemed loved-up, sharing a kiss mid-cut and teasing each other.

Michael joked that he had impressed himself with the cut and that just moments ago, Davina had looked 'awful'

Later, Davina responded to a fan comment that joked 'a fringe is better than Botox' and Davina agreed before explaining that she doesn't and wouldn't have any Botox although she did have some in her frown line in previous years but found it interfered with her facial expressions.

She explained that when she is doing emotional TV shows like Long Lost Family, she wants the guests to be able to see how she's feeling.

She said: 'When I'm doing shows like Long Lost Family I want them to see what I'm feeling with my face. I want to emote so it's important that I can move my eyebrows.

'But a fringe really helps soften your forehead.'

At the end of the clip, Davina looked at herself in the camera and complimented her partner on doing such a good job before joking she should 'have brain surgery more often'.

Michael confessed it was 'a pleasure' to do his girlfriend's hair as she hugged and thanked him.

Davina and Michael appeared loved-up throughout the video and even paused the hair cut to share a kiss

Davina has been very candid about her health scare and on Thursday, gave an emotional update in a video uploaded to Instagram as she urged others to get private health checks if they can afford it.

The My Mum Your Dad presenter had her tumour picked up at a private clinic after she was offered a health check after taking part in a talk about menopause.

She said in her video as she documented her progress after the surgery: 'I really feel a lot more myself now. I feel way better.

'My sense of gratitude is growing by the day, I'm crying a bit less which is good. I'm really looking forward to Christmas.

'I want to talk about the place I did my health check. I didn't sing about it from the roof tops is it costs more than most people could afford. It's expensive - BUT it did save my life. But it is prohibitively expensive for most.

'The NHS also offers loads of other checks too. So get them - get the health check. Preventative medicine is better than reactive medicine.

'Eat well, do exercise, be less stressed. I just feel so grateful now. I'd like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at the clinics - I'm pretty sure you saved my life.'

The TV presenter, 57, recently revealed she was forced to have surgery after doctors discovered a benign tumour on her brain that affects three in a million people

She then penned in the caption: 'I understand that for most of my followers having a private health check isn't financially viable. But I do really believe that @onewelbeck deserve a special mention.

'They were the company that gifted me the health check in return for the talk I gave them, and that health check quite possibly saved my life. I owe Rupal and Simi a special debt of gratitude for guiding me through what has been a mad year.

'I interviewed @drchatterjee recently and he said that the tough times he's faced have always ended up being blessings of some sort … and I definitely feel this whole experience is a blessing.

'The love I feel for life, my family, my partner, nature, sun, rain, wind… everything… it's overwhelming at times… and I totally understand how lucky I was to get this health check… but there were many health checks that I skillfully ignored, when I got letters from @nhsengland offering them…. so what I'm saying is DO THE NHS HEALTH CHECKS … they r free ! BTW x thank you , for all the messages and support … big hugs.'
