Davina McCall's husband Michael Douglas has revealed he is planning to get a facelift after admitting the strain of her recent health battles has left him feeling as though he has aged a decade.

The celebrity hairdresser, 53, who married the TV presenter, 59, last December, said the pressures of the past few years, combined with running his business, have taken a visible toll on his appearance.

'In the last three years, I have aged about ten years, and I can really see it,' Michael said on fashion designer Amanda Wakeley's Style DNA podcast on Wednesday.

'[Davina] had a brain tumour, she had breast cancer, I've been fully running a business for the last four years, in an intense way. And I can see that it's really taking its toll in my face. It's started to really deteriorate.'

Michael added: 'Once the business journey's over, and me and Davina start to wind down a bit, I will get a little lower facelift.'

Pulling at the skin around his eyelids, he joked: 'This is almost like a labia, here. Look at that. So, yeah, we'll probably do a little cut round [the eyelids], and then start to look after my skin a little bit.'

His comments follow two particularly difficult years for Davina, who underwent surgery in November 2024 to remove a rare but benign brain tumour, known as a colloid cyst.

The growth was discovered during a health check connected to her menopause advocacy work. In April 2025, she announced that scans had confirmed the tumour had been completely removed.

Speaking last week, Davina described 2025 as 'the hardest year of Michael's and my lives'.

Her recovery was followed by another health crisis when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a lumpectomy in October 2025.

The former Big Brother presenter said the cancer had been caught early and had not spread to her lymph nodes. She later underwent five days of radiotherapy as a precaution.

Announcing her diagnosis that November, Davina thanked her family and medical team before adding: 'And an extra special thanks to Michael. It's been a lot.'

In addition last week she revealed that she had cardiovascular disease.

The couple married in an intimate ceremony in December, just weeks after her cancer surgery.

Michael has now explained that he plans to give himself a makeover after he and Davina devoted much of their time to helping others.

He said: 'I'm gonna cut me hair short, and go back to me little crop, Paul Weller-mod thing. And then reclaim myself as an individual person.

'Because at the moment, me and Davina, in some ways, have surrendered our lives in the service of others.

'All the work on [Davina's podcast] Begin Again, the menopause, all that, we're helping other people, really, is what we're doing with our lives.

'At some point, we'll probably pull back a little bit from that in five, ten years' time or something, and then just kind of rediscover ourselves a little bit.

'And that will be a kind of self-makeover that I'll do of myself, I think, and it'll require a haircut, a little facelift, and maybe a rejig of wardrobe or something.'

Michael admitted he is already thinking about seeking professional advice on his looks.

'I genuinely might go and see a plastic surgeon and just say, OK, what do you think? When would be a good time to do something? What should I do if I was gonna do something?

'A bit like when someone comes to see me for their hair, I'm gonna go and see somebody for my face... [get] a treatment plan.

'And then if he said, start using hyaluronic acid on your face or whatever, I'd be like, great, let's go buy some.'

Despite spending four decades in the hair and beauty industry, Michael admitted he currently pays little attention to his own skincare.

'At the moment, I have no regime,' he said. 'Davina's a Garnier person, so she gets lots of Garnier skin care. I just grab whatever's in there.

'I put Garnier's Summer Body on my face this morning. You can tell I have a tan. I thought yeah, I look a bit peaky this morning, so I put that on. So no, I have no regime. I brush my teeth and get out of the door.'
