EXCLUSIVE: Shelby Leshine has been promoted to EVP of Development at David E. Kelley Productions.

Leshine joined the company seven years ago as Development Coordinator. She moved up the ranks to Director of Development and most recently VP of Development. In her EVP role, Leshine will continue building a slate of dramatic, comedic, and unscripted material while fostering new voices and talent.

Leshine landed her first producer credit on Apple TV’s anticipated new series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, which will premiere at SXSW as the opening night television title ahead of its global debut on April 15. Based on Rufi Thorpe’s best-selling novel, the series stars Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, Thaddea Graham, and Nicole Kidman. Leshine is also a co-producer on the second installment of Presumed Innocent, which is currently in production and stars Rachel Brosnahan, Jack Reynor, Matthew Rhys and Fiona Shaw; and is a co-executive producer on All Day, a new scripted ABC comedy produced in collaboration with Chrissy Teigen on behalf of Huntley Productions, and Caroline Fox.

“Shelby has an impeccable talent for finding and developing material,” said Kelley. “She continues to creatively elevate our work product and we’re thrilled to continue the journey together.”

“There is no greater champion of creatives,” added Matt Tinker, President of David E. Kelley Productions. “Shelby is an integral part of our production pipeline, seeing projects through from a germ of an idea until release day. I’m so excited to continue our partnership.”

David E. Kelley Productions’ slate includes HBO’s Emmy-winning series Big Little Lies;  The Undoing, ABC’s hit drama Big Sky, Nine Perfect Strangers; HBO Max’s Love & Death and Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer, which recently was renewed for a fifth season ahead of its season four premiere, and Anatomy Of A Scandal.
