Danny Dyer revealed he has put on a stone after gorging on 12 sausages a day while filming the second series of Rivals.
The actor, 48, who portrays wealthy, self-made electronics businessman Freddie Jones in the Disney+ adaptation of the late Jilly Cooper's racy novel, said he has been living off a diet of junk food which has left his 'chubby and constipated'.
The star-studded cast wrapped up filming this week, ahead of the first six episodes airing in May.
Explaining the reasons for why he had an 'awful diet', Danny said he was a method actor and in his head, Fred is meant to be 'chubby'.
Speaking this week in his podcast with daughter Dani, 29, Live And Let Dyers, Danny said: 'I've realised I'm quite method. While I was play Fred Fred I have put on a stone.'
When Dani asked if he had been living off KFC and McDonald's, he replied: 'He's chubby and he's meant to be. That's the point of Fred Fred. In your brain, that's how he was meant to be. My diet was awful.

'I was living on my jack in Bristol, living off Deliveroos.
'And I'd buy a pack of sausages, which is a 12 pack. They go off quick sausages so I found myself making 12 sausages of a night. Not every night as I'd be f*****g dead.
'I was cooking them all and I'd make myself a sandwich and you could only really get five in a sandwich. Then I ended up munching the rest of them sausages as the night went on. I was dipping them in ketchup.'
Danny went on to say he didn't have enough olive oil in his diet so he ended up constipated.
The actor also celebrated shaving off his moustache, despite his daughter remarking some viewers were a big fan of him sporting the facial hair.
Last month, Disney dropped a first look at the hotly-anticipated second series.
The trailer showcases the five main characters, including David's Lord Tony Baddingham, the ruthless managing director of television company Corinium - and Emily's rising TV star Sarah Stratton.
Then there's antagonist and long-standing enemy of Baddingham, Rupert Campbell-Black, played by The Tragedy Of Macbeth's Alex Hassell, a retired Olympic show-jumper, now a Tory MP.

Declan O'Hara, played by Poldark's Aidan Turner, the ex-BBC journalist who got recruited to Corinium, and Black Lighting's Nafessa Williams' Cameron Cook, an American TV-producer, also return.
The main line-up is completed by Sex Education's Bella Maclean as Taggie O'Hara.
In the final episode of series one, Lord Baddingham was left for dead after being struck on the head with a trophy during an explosive confrontation with Cameron.
But the trailer has confirmed he's alive and well, making his return in a shiny helicopter scene, suffering 'a headache' and back 'at war' with his TV rival Rupert.
The synopsis teases: 'The battle for the Central South West television franchise reaches a fever pitch as the war between Corinium and Venturer enters a dangerous new phase.
'More ruthless than ever, Tony Baddingham is determined to dismantle his rivals piece-by-piece, weaponising scandal and manipulating those closest to him to maintain his grip on power.
'Amidst the hedonistic glamour of 80s excess, the personal lives of our Rutshire heroes spiral into chaos.
'Marriages fracture under the weight of ambition, illicit affairs threaten to shatter families, and long-buried secrets ignite with explosive consequences.
'As rivalries push everyone to the brink, loyalties are tested and hearts are broken in the pursuit of victory. But what is the true cost of war?'
'The naughtiest show on television returns,' Disney+ added under the trailer, confirming its release date for May 15.
