Dammit, Jim, He’s a Doctor *And* an Action Figure!

While Paramount’s determining the future of Star Trek on screen, things are much clearer on the toy front. During a Wondercon panel this weekend, Nacelle unveiled a first look at the latest Federation member to get the action figure treatment, DeForest Kelly’s Dr. Leonard McCoy.

As the Enterprise’s chief medical officer, Bones’ figure sees him in uniform with three pairs of interchangeable hands and an equally interchangeable head. Accessory-wise, he comes with a number of medical equipment to simulate being out in the field, and a 9-inch biobed built to scale (and complete with overhead monitor) where he can tend to any sick or injured member of the crew.

Nacelle also provided a look at the Turbolift section from its incoming build-a-bridge playset, which itself has interchangeable dedication plaques for the Enterprise, U.S.S. Defiant, S.S. Yorktown, and U.S.S. Constellation. The Defiant and Constellation appeared in the respective episodes “In a Mirror, Darkly” and “The Doomsday Machine,” and Yorktown was the original name franchise creator Gene Roddenberry called the ship in his 1964 pitch letter.

Bones and rest of the Enterprise crew from the original Star Trek series will be part of Nacelle’s third wave of action figures. The company previously unveiled Spock and Uhura, and has yet to show off decorated officers like Kirk, Sulu, and Nurse Chapel. Also included in the wave three line are a two-pack of Roddenberry and Lucille Ball, whose production company Desilu produced the first two seasons.

Nacelle will launch pre-orders for its third wave of Star Trek figures later in 2026.
