Cynthia Erivo dons dotted Moschino gown at Out100 Event but does NOT pose with girlfriend Lena Waithe

Cynthia Erivo has been quietly dating The Chi creator Lena Waithe for two years, but they opted not to pose together at Out Magazine's Out100 Event held at NeueHouse Hollywood on Wednesday.

The British 37-year-old - who publicly came out as bisexual in 2022 but keeps her love life private - received the LGBTQAI organization's highest honor, Icon of the Year.

Cynthia bared her shoulders in a b&w-dotted Moschino SS/25 RTW gown and flashed her green patent leather high-heeled Louboutin booties selected by stylist Jason Bolden.

Make-up artist Joanna Simkin fully contoured Erivo's complexion, applied her cat eyeliner and false lashes, bronzed cheekbones, and brown-lined lips.

Nail artist Shea Osei created the Defying Gravity belter's extra-long manicure for the fabulous festivities.

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old Emmy-winning screenwriter struck a pose in an eccentric orange jacket and black trousers crafted by Eleven Sixteen designer Ugo Mozie.

Lena's green-lensed circular sunglasses appeared to be a silent salute to Cynthia's Wicked character, the Wicked Witch of the West Elphaba Thropp.

Erivo was presented with the trophy by Reneé Rapp who, like her, identifies as a 'queer Capricorn.'

'She's allowing people who've never seen themselves in Elphaba to identify with her more deeply. And that's critical for visibility for those who need it,' the 24-year-old Mean Girls star said onstage.

'Simply put, Cynthia's talent and impact are unlimited.'

In her lengthy acceptance speech, the daughter of Nigerian immigrants - who's only an Oscar away from EGOT status - name-dropped late queer icons like Marsha P. Johnson, Reverend Pauli Murray, and George Michael.

'Elphaba had discovered these new powers, and instead of using them for herself, she chose to use them for others, even though it meant she had to do it alone,' Cynthia said onstage.

'I'd like to take a leaf out of Elphaba's spell book, Grimery for those in the know, and use the powers I have for others, not just myself. I think that's what makes an icon.'

Waithe captured all the action of her famous girlfriend's moment via Instastory while discreetly standing several rows back in the audience.

Erivo also got her green flowers, literally, from environmental drag queen Pattie Gonia, whose image was used without his permission in an advertisement the Donald Trump 2024 presidential campaign.

Also attending the Out100 Event was the A Little Night Music thespian's onscreen sister Marissa Bode, who bared her midriff in a blue gown selected by stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn.

The 24-year-old actress - who's dating journalist Lauren Brooks - plays the Wicked Witch of the East, Nessarose Thropp, in Jon M. Chu's big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical.

On Tuesday, Cynthia earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for best actress in a motion picture (musical or comedy) for her four-octave performance.

Erivo faces heavy competition against The Substance's Demi Moore, Emilia Pérez's Karla Sofía Gascón, Anora's Mikey Madison, Challengers' Zendaya, and Nightbi***'s Amy Adams.

The 1984 star previously won prizes for Wicked at the Celebration of Black Cinema & Television, Astra Film and Creative Arts Awards, Palm Springs Film Festival, and National Board of Review.

Next year, Cynthia will executive produce and star as London defense attorney Tessa in Susanna White's big-screen adaptation of the play Prime Facie.

Erivo will also voice a character called The Slink in Disney Jr. animated series Robogobo, which centers on a boy genius and his adopted five misfit pets.

The RADA grad literally built her entire career on playing prominent African-Americans like Aretha Franklin, Harriet Tubman, and The Color Purple protagonist Celie Harris-Johnson.
