Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.
Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.
It seems like everywhere you go these days, you will be confronted with a Cyberpunk 2077 collaboration and, as one of the game's biggest fans, I cannot help but be proud of how far the CD Projekt RED RPG has come from its 2020 launch.
Now with hit crossovers with the likes Wuthering Waves and Fortnite to arcade games and graphic novels, Cyberpunk 2077 has gone global and with the highly anticipated sequel also in the works, it seems as though CDPR is doing what it takes to keep the dystopian RPG in the spotlight.
Now, in recent days, another crossover event has finally arrived, allowing players to experience some of their favorite Cyberpunk 2077 characters in another hit video game: Apex Legends.
That is right, CD Projekt RED and Respawn Entertainment have come together to bring together the dystopian world of Cyberpunk 2077 to the hit battle royale game, Apex Legends. As such, players can expect some of their favorite Apex fighters to take on the appearance of Night City's residents, all whilst fighting across a brand-new dedicated map.
The new skins were already revealed earlier this month alongside an official trailer, but we can see that Lucy, David and Rebecca from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be receiving skins, alongside Panam, Judy, Evelyn, Adam Smasher, and Jackie from the main game. The skins will be available based on which Apex Legends hero you lock in, such as Lifeline having the Judy skin whilst Loba takes on the appearance of Panam, for example.
Now, however, the event is finally live and those who log into Apex Legends now will be able to purchase the new skins, as well as experience the brand-new Cyberpunk 2077-inspired map as they take part in the beloved battle royale. To celebrate the event going live, the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter/X account shared a message from none other than Skippy, who will also be making his Apex Legends debut.
"New fingerprints detected. Hello user! My name is Skippy. Automatically increasing volume by 300% to guarantee important message is conveyed without issue," it reads. "USER! THIS IS YOUR REMINDER THAT THE APEX LEGENDS X CYBERPUNK EVENT IS LIVE IN
@PLAYAPEX. YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE. HAPPY UTILIZING ME IN COMBAT!"
The announcement came alongside another teaser trailer posted by the official Apex Legends account, showcasing both the skins and map in question. As you can imagine, fans were over the moon to learn about another exciting collaboration.
"Not going to lie, ripping around in Apex with a Sandy is so much fun, I've really missed this," one user shared. Another said, "Can't afford this event for s*it which sucks because it's goated."
If you are willing to splash the cash to get your hands on these new Cyberpunk 2077-inspired skins in Apex Legends, then the crossover event is officially live and taking the gaming sphere by storm.
